Bodovar Watch Co, a Swiss diamond set open face slim pocket watch, circa 1925, with a Swiss 17 jewel keyless lever movement, no.702566, adjusted to temperature, the silvered dial inscribed 'Chronometre' with black Arabic numerals on a chequerboard chapter ring and subsidiary seconds dial, the case with an eight-cut diamond border and stamped 'platine'. Provenance:. The property of the late Georgina Halse, the widow of boxing promoter Harry Levine, who died in 1988 at the age of 90. By repute this was his dress pocket watch, and was found by the current vendor, who nursed Mrs Halse during her terminal illness, and was bequeathed a chest in Mrs Halse's will, in which the watch was found. Harry Levine, known as the 'Merchant of Menace' and 'Harry the Hoarse', began his boxing promoting career in 1953, and his greatest success was in 1966 when he promoted a heavyweight title bout between Mohammed Ali and Henry Cooper. The watch is offered for sale with documents, obituaries and letters to Mrs Halse following the death of Harry Levine
