There is very light surface pitting and a few mark to the dial, the case has some surface scratches but nothing too serious.

PATEK PHILIPPE; an 18ct yellow gold half hunter minute repeating pocket watch, the outer dial with blue enamel Roman numerals enclosing a white enamelled dial set with black Roman numerals, with fourteen inch lever escapement, inscribed cuvette and with matching numbers 47.010 throughout, presented in original box with original certificate dated October 14th 1871 and also presented with extract from the Archives, also accompanied by an insurance valuation for £80,000, diameter 40mm, approx 60.9g.Provenance: From a private North West collection.Additional InformationThe movement is free and ticks when wound, there are a few light surface scratches to the outer case but the blue enamelling is in good order. The white enamelled dial is also in good order, free from damage. The case itself has light scratches, but overall a well presented watch. The interior of the box is slightly worn, there a re a couple of rips to the silk and threads hanging from the velvet.

The dial is in excellent condition, with the exception of three minute hairline cracks beneath the subsidiary seconds dial, the movement runs freely, ticks when wound. It is presented with an insurance valuation for £25,000, there is no box or other paperwork with this watch.

The GWR is barely legible and heavy surface tarnishing, not working.

McLachlan, Winnipeg, Man and No.347606, diameter 50mm, the second by Waltham with fifteen jewel movement No.21721620, diameter 51mm, the third by Elgin with seventeen jewel movement No.20994420, diameter 45mm.Additional InformationThe Hamilton watch has an area of cracking around the number two, general surface wear and some tarnishing to the metalware, ticks when wound. The Waltham example has heavy tarnishing to the case throughout, very heavy in parts, ticks when wound, hairline crack to the dial between the eleven and twelve points with some light surface scratches to the dial. The Elgin example does not tick and has a hairline crack running from the subsidiary seconds hand to five various points in the outer dial, a couple of dents to the back of the case. All three with general surface wear throughout.

All have wear to the cases. The Dominant watch, the smaller Elgin watch are unable to close so the covering lid is permanently in an upright position, some heavy tarnishing in parts, surface scratches. The Waltham watch has owners initials GL engraved to the base, and all four with general surface wear to the dials.

The Elgin watch is missing a finger from the subsidiary dial and also cracking to the dial, it has also been over wound.  The Omega watch when wound does not appear to be ticking.  Both in need of restoration.

The white enamel dial has a very fine hairline crack between the one and two numerals but otherwise ok. Light surface scratches and a few small dents throughout. The function button on the side of the watch is not working.For those asking what the diameter of the watch is, this is clearly stated in the description, as is the fact that the watch is not functioning.

MILITARY INTEREST; SAMPSON MARKS & CO OF JOHANNESBURG; a plated military issued pocket watch with white enamel dial set with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds hand and with fifteen jewel movement, the screw off back case with military crow's foot, diameter 51mm, a military issued Elgin timer No.1134/60, 6B4/117, 14/5SEC.T.P., diameter 50mm, and an unnamed military issued pocket watch with Arabic numerals to the dial and back of case inscribed 'GSTP' with military crow's foot.Additional InformationSurface scratches and wear throughout, the third watch has heavy tarnishing and discolouration to the back, also heavy staining to the dial. The timer is rather loose in the case, none are working, hairline cracks to the enamel dial.

A hallmarked silver pocket watch chain with blood stone swivel fob to one end, spring loaded clip to the other, suspending a further fob with vacant shield shaped cartouche and T-bar, length 41cm, and a further silver pocket watch chain with T-bar, spring loaded clip and associated silver propelling toothpick, length 40.5cm, combined approx 82.5g (2).Additional InformationThe first chain has marks to each piece, there are dents around the edge of the blood stone swivel fob, general surface wear. The second chain, the toothpick actions works well, slight misshaping to a couple of the links, the main oval links are stamped, it is unfinished at one end, the T-bar is also stamped both with general surface wear throughout.

RAILWAY INTEREST; a late Victorian hallmarked silver open face key wind pocket watch with white enamel dial set with Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds hand and original painted scene of a steam train, hallmarked for Chester 1890 and suspending a short silver fob chain, diameter 55mm, and a plated key wind open face pocket watch with white enamel dial set with Roman numerals inscribed 'Railway Timekeeper, J.L Goodrick, Thirsk', diameter 56mm (2).Additional InformationWe have no doubt that the decoration to the first pocket watch is contemporary to the watch, surface scratches throughout, there are a few dents to the silver bezel, not currently working. The short watch chain is stamped to each section but the T-bar is plated. The second watch has numerous faults to the dial including an area of damage and hairline cracks, scratches and heavy wear throughout, knife marks where people have tried to open the watch. Neither are working.
