A Victorian oak breakfront bookcase with half carved Gothic style decoration CONDITION REPORTS Overall condition appears basically sound with some minor knocks, dents, scratches conducive with age and use. The surface of the base with some discolouration and staining. See images for further details. The central secretaire drawer has replacement baize but otherwise sound though appears to have dropped slightly so that when opening the cupboard doors it catches on the drawer base - not enough to stop the opening action but noticeable nonetheless. 232.5 cm high x 222 cm wide x 54 cm deep. Central bookcase cabinet 27 cm deep. Side bookcase cabinets 20 cm deep.

A Continental burr walnut, walnut and parquetry banded doctor's secretaire cabinet c.1900, the shallow, flared cornice over an inlaid dentil frieze, the top section with a cupboard enclosing five slides, a bank of seven drawers and a small secretaire with fall front, over an eight drawer base with cupboard doors beneath, all with the original Art Nouveau style copper handles, the drawers and slides with white glass liners, raised on square tapered legs with outset square toes and iron castors, united by an arched apron, 34 x 16¼in. (86 x 41cm.), 53in. (134.5cm.) high.
