A Regency mahogany secretaire bookcase, circa 1815, with glazed doors above the fall front secretaire enclosing a leather inset and an arrangement of pigeon holes and drawers, with two panelled doors on bracket feet, 213cm high, 114cm wide, 55cm deepCondition Report: What appears to be a 'rail' to the upper section is in fact peeling lining paper where the boards have slipped previouslyMarks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and useThere are later associated glass shelves to the upper section. These were not placed in the catalogue and online images. If wooden ones were wished for these would need to be sourced by the purchaser. The grooves to the side to hold them are present. There are old paper letters applied to the centre upright. The top is screwed to the base for stability, this does need them as is prone to 'rock' without them and is not safe for use as such in a domestic setting. These are not original screws. The fitted drawer with marks and stains from use, the leather inset is creased and with old split along the horizontal 'hinge'. Some handles missing in this area - all drawers are present the report stated that two were missing they had been removed temporally but are now present again now.The base with two slides - these also have paper labels to them. There are four keys present, these do not operate all the locks - the cabinet doors do not appear to want to unlock - they can be opened carefully at time of report Old splits and cracks, some chips and lossesPlease refer to additional images for visual reference to conditionThe internal depth of the top section is 23.5cmCondition Report Disclaimer
