A Georgian mahogany secretaire chest on chest. With oak front to back drawer linings, adjustable rake and secret drawer to the secretaire section, having three short over three graduated long drawers over a base of four graduated long drawers, on bracket feet. H176cm x W104.8cm x D57.5cm Condition Report: fundamentally good but there are some losses. the left hand bracket foot is missing lower section, some dark crossbanding losses, see photos. I suggest the handles and escutcheons have been replacd at sometime but the lower section is complete and good. the top section has losses to the crossbanding again plus one handle completely missing ( one handle , broken stud and petal formed stud backing is in the chest), the left hand side ( as looking from front) has the cornice re-glued.Whilst the list is exhaustive ,this is a quality thing that only needs titirvation with the drawers having oak front to back lining. lovely proportion with the top drawers able to be looked in by a 6 footer !

A GEORGE III MAHOGANY SECRETAIRE CHEST ON CHEST CIRCA 1770 The fall front opening to an arrangement of pigeon holes and drawers around a central cupboard door 200cm high, 104cm wide, 55cm deep Provenance: Private Collection, Kent Condition Report: Overall there are some scratches, marks, knocks, cracks and abrasions consistent with age and use.There are some losses, restorations and observations including:There is some evidence of worm.The oak drawer linings with some splitting and tape, there is no key for the locks.A small chip of veneer to the carcase by the corner of one drawer.The book spines of the interior possibly later replacements.Some later blocks behind the bracket feet.The back not inspected.Please see the additional condition report photographs through the link on the condition report email as a visual reference of condition. A large 19th century Victorian walnut secretaire bookcase. Rectangular form with pediment top into two glazed cupboard doors with shelf interior on large base with large full length drawer pulling out into fitted interior and writing platform, above twin cupboard doors. All raised on a plinth base with metal hanging pulls. Measures approx 230 x 121 x 42 cm.
A George III oak and mahogany cross banded housekeepers cupboard, the breakfront upper section with a cavetto cornice over four panelled cupboard doors, each inlaid with a conch shell, and punctuated with quarter cluster columns, the outer doors opening to a painted interior and three shelves, the centre doors opening to two shelves over a secretaire compartmented recess, the base formed with nine cross banded drawers and a pair of conforming cupboard doors, similarly inset with cluster columns, lacking feet, 212cm H x 229cm W x 51cm D (at fault) Condition Report:Minor splits to the cornice, very minor evidence of woodworm to the cluster columns and blocks.Separation splits to the rear back boards, braces added to the rear of the central compartment.Joint split above the right hand cupboard door on the frieze which is likely to effect the structural integrity.Loss of moulding to the top of the dresser base, all handles are later with one missing.Cluster column on the RHS of the base is detached, lower block on the LHS column is also missing.The left hand side of the dresser base is split and detached, similarly the rear board at the same corner is also detached.All drawers run relatively smoothly, however central cupboard doors are tight.Lacking feet which may indicate possible faults to the underside, although there is nothing visible.General light fading, wear and marks with further possible minor losses, commensurate with age and use.Please see additional images.Separates into two parts, upper and lower sections.
