An early 19th century mahogany secretaire chest The rectangular moulded top above a secret frieze drawer and a fall front drawer enclosing a compartmentalised and baize lined interior with an arrangement of eight burr walnut veneered drawers and a central door inlaid with a conch shell, over three cockbeaded graduated drawers, each with turned wooden handles raised on outswept bracket feet, 126 x 128 x 59cm CONDITION REPORT: Lot 1322 - Top - scratches, dents and dark stain marks, loss of moulding to front edges. Left side - scratches and dents, loss of veneer to legs. Right side - scratches and dents, loss of veneer to legs. Front - Drawer opens smoothly, three of handles been replaced, very near match Some loss of veneer to three drawer edges and old repairs to veneer below secretaire drawer, some moulding missing to drawer edges.
