A 19th century walnut secretaire bookcase, the cavetto cornice above twin glazed doors enclosing three adjustable shelves, the base with panelled fall front frieze secretaire drawer opening to a fitted interior with pigeon holes and satinwood veneered drawers, above twin panelled cupboard doors, raised on a plinth base, 120cm wide x 48cm deep x 221cm high.Condition report: Bookcase top has section of cornice missing left side. Cornice on right corner has loss to beading. Small splits to sides lower left and right near the back. Base has shrinkage to left freeze corner joint. On right side, beading adrift but extant. Secretaire drawer interior fair with two drawer knops and one pigeonhole apron adrift but extant. Skiver split at fall joint and generally worn but possibly original. Fall clips not engaging fully. Fall front loss to cock beading top left corner. Cabinet doors and interior appear fair with only minor cosmetic marks and signs of age and use. Plinth has some scuffing and surface wear throughout.
