A George III mahogany secretaire cabinet, circa 1775, the acanthus carved fretwork swan-neck pediment above a pierced dentil cornice and blind fretwork apron, above a pair of geometric astragal glazed doors enclosing shelves, the lower section with a moulded edge above a secretaire drawer fronted as two long drawers enclosing short drawers and pigeon holes, three graduated long drawers below on bracket feet, 113cm, with four keys. Provenance: purchased Sotheby's, lot 117, 5th July 1991.

Large'ish loss towards base left hand side which appear to have been refurbished, new hinges and associated splices left and right sides of base, otherwise some general wear, scratches and possibly some repair

It is considered that the cornice and plinth base are later.
