An early 19th Century mahogany secretaire bookcase:, the upper part with a moulded and reeded cornice, fitted with adjustable shelves enclosed by a pair of reeded lattice astragal glazed doors, the lower part having a fall enclosing a fitted interior with small drawers and pigeon holes about a central enclosed cupboard, containing three long drawers below, on splayed bracket feet, 110cm (3ft 7 1/4in) wide, 227cm (7ft 5 1/2in) high.
By Peter Waals (1870 - 1937) - Cotswold School - A walnut secretaire cabinet:, the hinged fall with raised moulded and strapped panel enclosing a fitted and chequer inlaid interior with pigeon holes, seven small drawers and a central enclosed cupboard, having a leather inset writing surface containing an arrangement of six short fielded panel drawers and an enclosed cupboard below, on shaped trestle ends with arched chamfered stretcher, 101cm (3ft 3 3/4in) wide, 130cm (4ft 3in) high. *Note - A somewhat similar secretaire was sold in the contents of Topps, Stockton, Warminster, Woolley & Wallis October 1978.
