A Regency mahogany and inlaid secretaire bookcase, the dentil cornice above twin glazed panel doors, the base fitted a secretaire drawer above three long drawers on splay bracket feet, 209cm (82.25") high/see illustration Provenance: Private Collection, Wiltshire. To be sold without reserve. Condition Report: The returns to the base suggest that this is a marriage, although the bookcase is contemporary, and there are many differences between the two sections including inlay and other decoration. Generally tired condition, the secretaire drawer is stiff and there is a split to bottom of right hand leg, one glazed panel is broken and partly missing to the left door, and the top centre pane of the right door has a crack
A George III walnut and crossbanded chest on chest, the moulded cornice above two short and six long drawers, the third long drawer converted as a secretaire, 175.25cm (69") high/ Provenance: Estate of Raymond de Seyssel Hall Condition Report: The left and right had side panels to both sections are split in places and veneer is splitting to both. Drawer handles replaced but silhouettes of 18th century original handles apparent on veneer, some replacement veneers and whole at sometime varnished. Secretaire drawer with walnut side linings and later interior, pull out supports also later.
A George III Mahogany Secretaire Chest, possibly Irish, circa 1800, the cavetto cornice above a blind fret carved frieze and an arrangement of seven drawers, the middle drawer as a secretaire, raised on bracket feet, 105cm by 56cm by 184cm Generally good cosmetic condition, high polished. Drawers oak lined. Brass swan neck handles. Cornice with areas of repair. Two short drawers with previously fitted knob handles. Secretaire drawer with small repair above escutcheon and lock. Bruising consistent with age. Interior polished, and previous handle marks visible, hinges overpainted etc. 270513
A French Louis XV/Transitional Style Ebonised and Gilt Metal Mounted Secretaire à Abattant, late 19th century, the grey and white carrara marble top above burrwood veneered and tulipwood banded mother-of-pearl drawers, the fall front enclosing a writing surface, two drawers and a shelf, 71cm by 35cm by 128cm Grey marble top chipped. Back left corner section repaired. Good quality gilt mounts. Bruising throughout the carcass and minor fine splits to the end panels. Damage around the drawer fronts, particularly beneath the fall front for the secretaire section. With key. Two escutcheons missing. 090713

Top faded and variations in colour. Later brasses. With key, although lower locks not working. Lower section rather faded with various veneer losses and patching.
