A Regency mahogany secretaire bookcase, the arched moulded pediment over a pair of glazed-in cabinet doors, over a fitted secretaire drawer and further three long graduated drawers, raised on splay bracket feet united by a shaped apron, 89 cm w x 45 cm x 215 cm h o/all colour / surface even but displaying a multitude of abrasions, indents, marks commensurate with age and use, some old ink spots and other blemishes front bracket feet repaired, minor vertical split to inside right back plank of glazed cabinet, handles are considered replacements, square block patched area to inner secretaire drawer back due to handle damage (?) we consider this to be a re-worked cabinet, perhaps either a marriage of reduced in size (see detail images)

19th Century mahogany brass mounted two part military chest with a secretaire drawer and one small drawer, above three long drawers raised on low bun feetOverall in good condition, has not been stripped or restored and retains original bun feet. Secretaire drawer has had lock replaced with escutcheon but this could be improved on.

A George III oak housekeeper's cupboard incorporating an eight-day clock with moon phase, signed W. Herberts, Ludlow, cupboards to each side, drawers and secretaire drawer below, 229cm wide x 220cm high x 49cm deep/Provenance: Spetchley Park /see illustration CONDITION REPORT: Upper section: Cornice moulding complete. Minor loss to moulding of frieze to the back right side. Fluted corner pilaster loose to left. Fielded cupboard doors with loss to crossbanding at base of two cupboards. Chips to carcass beneath cupboards. Clock dial slightly rubbed, pendulum and weights present. Lower section: Drawers goo, central cupboard good but with losses of crossbanding on the right pilaster. Central bun foot damaged. Overall, has a good rich colour but needs a careful polish.

A 19th Century French kingwood, floral marquetry and gilt metal mounted Secretaire a Abbatant:, of cartouche bombe outline, crossbanded and decorated with sprays of flowers and foliage, having a cavetto moulded cornice and frieze with applied foliate band, the hinged fall enclosing a fitted interior with small drawers, pigeon holes and an enclosed compartment, the cupboard below enclosed by a pair of doors between curved sides with applied cabochons and floral foliage at the angles, on ogee feet with sabots, 74cm (2ft 5in) wide, 155cm (5ft 1in) high.

An early 19th century mahogany North Country secretaire chest of drawers, the rectangular top with ebony stringing above two deep oak lined drawers, with fitted interior of drawers and pigeonholes and inlaid decoration in turn above three graduated cockbeaded drawers, all with turned bun handles with bone escutcheons on splayed bracket feet. 116 cm wide, 113 cm high, 56 cm deep. CONDITION REPORT: The chest of drawers requires some restoration. The top left-hand return moulding is loose. There is a small veneer loss at the rear left-hand corner of the top. There are other small veneer losses to the top right-hand side. The right-hand side of the chest has three old stress fractures but no movement. The left-hand side is fine. The secretaire drawer has a small section of cockbeading missing. The base writing surface is missing. The secretaire drawer mechanism is in good condition as is the fitted secretaire itself. All other drawers have some small losses to the cockbeading but no significant issues to the drawer fronts. The bottom right-hand corner of the chest just above the leg has some small veneer losses. There is a similar but smaller veneer loss on the left-hand side. All bracket feet are original and all nibbled around the extremities. The left-hand side of the front leg has some losses to the bottom section and the same applies to the veneer at the left-hand side of the bottom rear leg. The chest is structurally sound with no evidence of any woodworm.
