Some replaced crossbanding. Base sides have dark old marks and scuffs. Secretaire drawer front has carcass split at one end. Various replaced banding and mouldings. Veneer losses. Some fading.

An early 20th century oak secretaire bookcase in the Globe Wernicke manner CONDITION REPORTS Approx. 85 cm wide x 175 cm high. Overall with wear and scuffs, some knocks to edges and scuffs around keyhole, wear and lifting to the writing surface to the central section, glass missing to the bottom compartment, secretaire section does not currently close fully and may require some adjustment and it is supported by a later section of chain and two hooks.

Other losses and split in veneer to cornice. Three moveable shelves behind glazed doors. Some knocks and bumps to sides of doors. Lock to both sides replaced. Several glazed panels repaired. Beading to right side of base at top broken off but present. Inside secretaire drawer - moulding missing and divisions between left back of drawers missing. Marks and stains. Lock probably replaced - has key currently. Handles replaced. Secretaire drawer doesn't close easily Losses to veneer around drawers, and some repaired. Oak drawer linings. Feet worn and damp.

Le binôme fut constitué par Jean-Marc Gady, considéré comme l’un des designers les plus innovants de la nouvelle génération, et Jean-Paul Craman Lagarde, retenu parmi tous les artisans d’art français comme le meilleur de sa spécialité. Ce secrétaire à abattant « DESTINY », fruit de cette collaboration, a été désigné lauréat du programme parmi les huit binômes en lice. Cette création a nécessité 450 heures d’atelier pour sa réalisation. A George III secretaire bookcase with dentilled broken architectural pediment centred by a carved rampant lion holding a shield, this above a pair of 15 panel lattice glazed doors opening on to four adjustable shelves with moulded concave fronts, the base with a top fitted fall front drawers and four long graduated drawers on bracket feet, height 243cm. Rel. de l`époque : plein maroquin rouge, plats cernés de multiples cadres (nombreuses roulettes variées et filets divers) cernant un motif fleuronné en losange avec réserve centrale en forme de croix, dos à caissons et nerfs fleuronnés dorés (gardes renouvelées). Est. : 600/ 800 € Impression soignée en rouge et noir sur 2 colonnes ornée de lettrines historiées, avec calendrier et chants grégoriens à 4 portées. Agrémentée de 10 gravures à pleines pages, de 10 titres gravés sertis d`encadrements décoratifs et d`1 vignette sur le titre. ▲ Provenance : "Ce Misselle Nous a estée donne par Monsieur Blondeau secretaire de Monseigneur Lillustrissime eveque de Namur engelbert des Bois dheureuse Memoire; et duquelle ce Misselle vien sans ayant servy lontant et nous a esté donné a Cette considerasion du Monaster de L`ande Celeste...
