Above a double door astragal glazed cabinet with flared cornice and inlaid dentil. Measures 235cm x 120cm x 59cm.

VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Overall in good condition for its age, a little dry with water marks in places, scuffed and worn, dents and wear to the brass work. All handles available.

A Regency/William IV mahogany secretaire bookcase, the top half with inverted breakfront cornice above a pair of glazed doors enclosing adjustable shelves, the base with secretaire drawer above three further graduated drawers with brass drop handles with embossed backplates and flanked by carved and reeded pillars and raised on short lobed feet. Width 125 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The bookcase is in generally good original condition. The cornice is in good order. There are no cracks to the sides of the top. The bottom left hand return moulding to the bookcase top has a 5 cm loss at the rear end by the wall. The doors are in generally good condition. There is a minor insignificant warp to the upper half of the right hand door. The right hand door has one cracked pane of glass. The base is in generally good condition. There are some water marks to the top surface. The secretaire drawer is in good condition generally. There are minor veneer losses to the left hand and right hand top corners just above the drawer itself. The interior is in nice condition with the exception of the writing surface which is tired. A new leather would be advisable. All drawer fronts and cockbeading are in good order. The handles are original. The sides of the base have minor marks and scratches but no significant cracking or other issues. The piece is structurally very sound and all backboards are original. The right hand base return moulding is missing. Height 247 cm, depth 60 cm.
