Musealer Empire Secretaire-à-AbattantBraunschweig, Carl Wilhelm Marckwort, (1798-1875) zugeschrieben195 x 110 x 55 cmLeicht konischer Korps mit tonnenförmigem Aufsatz und zwei plastischen Löwen aus Bronze. Im unteren Bereich drei Schübe. Abklappbare Schreibplatte mit Gegengewichten vor einem architektonisch angelegtem Kabinett mit dorischen Säulen und Triglyphen-Gesims mit Mauerwerk-Optik ("Luisenmausoleum"). Im Kabinett sind die Stufen und das Fries und der Giebel als Schubfächer konzipiert. Drei Türfächer, die seitlichen mit verborgenem Auslöser. Der Kopfschub als abklappbares Stehpult mit grünem Fils und kleinen Fächern. Oberteil mit einer Tür. Mahagoni, Karelische Birke, Linde und ebonisiertes Holz, vergoldete Bronzebeschläge. Ergänzungen, l. rest., min. Alterssch.Deutsche Privatsammlung.Carl Wilhelm Marckwort war einer der berühmtesten Möbelkünstler des frühen 19. Jahrhunderts, seine Werkstatt war in Braunschweig. Als Wandergeselle arbeitete er unter anderem im berühmten Atelier von Bernhard Wanschaff in Berlin, wo er eine Auswahl von Möbel-Zeichnungen anfertigte- u.a. eine Zeichnung eines Sekretärs, der im Jahr 1812 von Wanschaff für König Friedrich Wilhelm II von Preußen geschaffen wurde. Dieser Sekretär weist eine sehr ähnliche Gestaltung und Dekoration auf, vor allem das exzeptionelle Innenleben in der Gestaltung des Mausoleums der verstorbenen Königin Luise von Preußen.Einige dieser seltenen Zeichnungen wurden 2020 im Rijksmuseum Amsterdam ausgestellt: Berlin Furniture Drawings by Carl Wilhelm Marckwort (1798-1875) by Achim Stiegel The Rijksmuseum Bulletin Vol. 68.
