Majak, USSR - a vintage mid 20th century Russian mantle-piece / desk clock. The plastic clock of circular form with faceted edges, the face with alphanumerical digits in chrome. Mounted on twin chrome legs, which are fixed atop a black base. Marked to face Majak, made in USSR. Measures approx. 22cm tall.
Collection of four mantle clocks includes a French 8-Day mahogany & inlay mantle clock, makers mark and ' Made in France ' to back of movement, raised on small brass bun style feet, along with another French 8-Day mahogany clock with same movement, scalloped / chamfered case and button decoration, a Garrard 8-Day deco style clock with square face and brass chapter with Roman numerals, 17 jewel movement and Garrard Swindon Made in England to plate on reverse. Comes along with another deco style clock in chrome and green colours with square face and deco style numerals and hands, no makers marks discernible. Largest measures approximately 15cm tall x 26cm W x 8cm D.

French- mid 19th century 8-day Belgium slate mantle clock, break-front case with variegated marble panels, with a flat top and a deeply incised border to the front resting on a deep plinth, two part enamel dial with a visible Brocot escapement, Roman numerals and steel moon hands, twin train rack striking movement, striking the hours and half hours on a bell. A 19th century French gilt metal and bronze mantle clock. The clock with a cold painted bronze finial figure of a farming maiden, with hay bales and wheat sheaves behind. The clock face with enamelled dial and Roman numerals. Fleur de lis decoration atop scrolled floral feet. Marked to mechanism E. Marguin a Paris. Complete with winder and pendulum. Sold as untested. Measures approx. 36cm x 36cm.
