A 19TH CENTURY FRENCH MANTLE CLOCK BY DUPONT OF PARIS with Rococo ormoulu case and silvered engine turned dial, the 8-day movement striking on a bell, stamped 'DUPONT A PARIS' and '1513', the case also stamped '1513' to base, 30cm high, on a gilt gesso stand. Provenance: by family descent from the original owner Scottish Minister Thomas Chalmers. Sold with a rosewood framed print of Thomas Chalmers Condition Report : the ormoulu is a good colour/patination, with no signs of damage. overall nice quality, and pleasingly heavy. Movement has not been tested. Silk suspension pendulum. May have originally had a glass dome. Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting (where possible) any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
A VICTORIAN 8-DAY SLATE AND MARBLE MANTLE CLOCK with urn finial, 46cm high overall Condition Report : with pendulum but no key, also lacking bell. Small chip to top left corner, two filled holes on side of case Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting (where possible) any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
AN EDWARDIAN MANTLE CLOCK the white dial with Arabic numerals and marked Ramsay Dundee, the French movement marked WBK & Fils, Paris 20860, with impressed crown above a capital A in a circle, 28cm high Condition Report: the enamel dial has cracking. A couple of small dents to the wood long the top rim and lid.
A LATE 19TH CENTURY FRENCH MANTLE CLOCK the alabaster base with gilded scholar and child studying books, resting on an alabaster faced drum head clock with Roman numerals, marked for James Ritchie & Son, Paris, the movement marked Japy Freres & Cie, number 6.4 and 2001 with AF in oval, 39cm high Condition Report: One foot is loose but there. The child's head is loose, numbers rubbed. Has key and pendulum.
A LATE 19TH CENTURY LOUIS ACHILLE BROCOT MANTLE CLOCK AND GARNITURE the urn mounted gilded metal case with porcelain circular dial painted with Roman numerals and a sailing boat, the front and side porcelain panels painted with continental lake scenes and with red jeweled decoration, the two train movement marked A star B and with numbers, 4120 45 5, 37cm high, together with a pair of pineapple topped urns, all upon gilt gesso and wood bases (3) Condition Report: The reverse of the panels painted with number 5880. The clock case stamped 5880. Has pendulum and key, winds and ticks. Both garnitures are stamped 6442 to the metal. Both porcelain bodies are cracked and there is a chip to one of the gesso bases.
