Lovely 19th Century French made Mantle Clock with Spelter decoration to top with matching Slate and Marble Garniture. Clock made by Francoise Arsene Margaine. Appears to be in running order with key and pendulum. Pendulum hanger will need to be replaced. Measures approx 19 inches tall. see photos.
A 19th Century French Red Boulle and Gilt Metal Mounted Mantle Clock, by Ls Japy Fils, No. 565, the 4ins diameter cast gilt brass dial with raised enamel Roman numeral cartouche and cast Arabic numerals, to the eight day two train movement striking on a bell, contained in case surmounted by basket of fruit, and inlaid with trailing scroll ornament, and with mask and leaf scroll mounts, on scroll feet, 14.5ins highhttps://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/w8gvnei6og2xfq9a99hx0/AMXtc4iDwiiX9Bg9dgCg28Q?rlkey=xakjtybja1w0xp6abup355ado&st=zwsm1vw3&dl=0 Externally the clock presents in good condition overall, showing wear commensurate with age and light usage, some of the gilding appears to be overpainted, using gold paint. The door functions correctly and the hinge is in good condition. The dial is in good condition as are the enamelled Roman baton numerals with the exception of number 2, which has some cracks in general to the lozenge. The clock seems to be free from any previous damage or obvious sign of repair. The rear door functions correctly and the hinges appear to be original. The mechanism is complete but we cannot warrant the originality of all components. Pendulum is present, the clock winds, runs and sets but should be regarded as untested. Prospective bidders are strongly advised to study all images closely prior to bidding
A 19th Century Continental porcelain and ormolu mantle clock, the Roman dial painted with a garland of flowerheads within a blue and gilt chapter ring, over a porcelain panel hand-painted to illustrate a courting couple, the case encrusted with cherubs, birds and scrolls, below an ormolu mounted porcelain urn, the two-train eight-day movement striking on a bell, with pendulum, the movement signed 'HP & Co', stamped '30661' and '56912', 37cms high, raised on a shaped gilt base, over an ebonised oval base, with glass dome, 52cms high overall.
A TRENCH ART MANTLE CLOCK FORMED FROM A BOMB CASING, 19th century movement free from the case, damaged dial, roman numerals, 8 day movement, bell strike with issues, the movement stamped although lost some detail 'Machenaud Paris, S. Marti et Cie', numbered 1522, 52, numbered to the outer edge of movement casing 369 with star, without pendulum and key, exterior casing has been heavily painted black, inside and some detail in red, with additions added to the exterior and wooden panel door to the back, glass is included but not attached, numbered 583?, stamped to the inside base E.W., some of the rings do turn but most other detail has been lost, overall worn condition with the movement and dial in need of attention, clock not tested for working condition or accuracy, standing approximately 40cm tall, Customers must satisfy themselves prior to sale in regards to conditions and authenticity, viewing is advised, condition reports are available on request
A 19th century French bronze and slate figural mantle clock in the style of Raingo Freres, the plinth footed slate base having a fluted design rising up to a brass figure of a reclining lady with flowers, and the enamelled clock face bearing Roman numerals. With maker's stamp to the movement, possibly A. Dumas. H.47 W.51 D.19.5cm
