A good 19th century rosewood mantle clock signed Simmons, Coleman Street, London, the bevelled glazed case with foliate gilt engraved dial having twin subsidiaries above for strike/silent and slow/fast, silvered chapter ring, Roman numerals, signed to a shaped plaque above VI, the twin fusee gong striking movement with anchor escapement and unsigned backplate, the adjustable pendulum with holdfast 30½ x 20½cm (12 x 8in) No apparent major defects; movement seems to function.
