French Black Marble Antique Mantle Clock, the sides of the clock supported by a pair of bronze leopards rampant on shaped pedestals. The chapter ring to the dial picked out in gilt metal, the brass movement stamped 'Made in France', maker Japy Freres. With a presentation engraved plaque applied to the base, presented to J Dewhurst 1903. Measures 13" high, 23" wide and 6" deep.

The mechanism is gilded and does not appear to be signed. Named as 'Swiss Made' on the gilt metal barrel. The clockwork is otherwise in good overall condition with some minor discolouration to the gilt bronze. The clock is numbered to the underside of the stand 419.
