A good 19th century French ormolu and steel mantle clock by Morel, Paris, the Gothic shaped top with ornate pierced detail and apron supported by 4 fluted steel columns with turreted surmounts and decorative knops flanking a seated medieval couple in an amorous encounter. The 8 day movement striking on a bell with a scrolled gilt dial and painted Roman numerals on tablets. With glass protective dome. The stepped base similarly decorated and the lower steel band engraved "Presented to Jno.Jas.Josh. Sudlow Esq by the Administrator and Next of Kin (exparte materna) of Wm. Osgood Esq, late Chief Justice of Upper Canada. May 16th 1829" (54cms high, as viewed, minute hand missing)

A good 19th century French ormolu and gilt brass mantle clock, the small rectangular body surmounted and flanked by garlanded scrolls with a mounted oval painted plaque of a dancing muse and raised on a breakfront rectangular plinth with more floral plaques and foliate/dentate detail and beaded rim raised on squat rectangular feet. The 8 day movement striking on a bell and stamped J.T. Paris and the conforming black dial with polychrome floral garlands and painted Roman numerals. With a stepped gilt wood base and a protective glass dome and stand (53cms on stand)
