Single train wall clock with white enamel dial in glazed stained wood case. 75cm high and a black slate mantle clock (2). Case - 2 large splits to the base, some losses less than 5%, minor scratched and tarnishes, glass in good order. Dial chipped around train - we have not had this clock running, we do not guarantee this or that it keeps good time.
An Edwardian inlaid rosewood mantle clock, with two-train spring driven movement and silvered brass dial with Roman numerals. Width 16.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The movement winds on both trains. Unfortunately we do not however have a pendulum and cannot tell if the movement is ticking away as it ought. The movement does look very clean and we cannot see any visible signs of any problems. The case itself is in extremely good general condition. There are some minor stress fractures to the veneers but no significant issues. The silvered dial is in very good order as are all of the numerals. The lift out rear door to the case is missing.
A Victorian brass mantle clock, circa 1890, architectural form, the pediment with Medusa mask and classical scrolls, the gilt dial with pierced centre decorated with rams heads and swags and flanked to either side by terms all above a cast leaf band edge and squat feet, with eight day movement chiming on a gong. Height 26.5 cm, width 18.5 cm.
A French boulle marquetry mantle clock, with single-train movement, "Examined by John Barker & Co. Ltd., Kensington, London". Height 32 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The movement winds and is currently ticking away. The face is in good order with only slight fading to the numerals. The watch glass is a little dirty but in good condition. All metalwork is present but is quite badly tarnished. The simulated tortoiseshell sides have sprung away from the main body of the clock. There are however no losses. The brass fretwork is slightly lifting to the front and right hand corners of the caddy top. There is also further lifting above the face and a small loss between numerals 9 & 10. There is also slight lifting to the brasswork below the numeral 6. The movement housing is a little loose and requires a pin to locate. We do not have a key. We are wondering if the lifting simulated tortoiseshell to the sides of the clock is in fact original. There may be later replacements.
A large late Victorian oak office mantle clock, with two-train fusee movement, the face with Roman numerals, the case with applied foliate scrolling mouldings. Width 75 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The clock has a twin fusee movement with pendulum. The case is in generally good condition with only minor scuffs, scratches and surface blemishes that one would expect from a Victorian clock. There is no significant damage and no major losses. The movement appears to strike when advanced. It also winds on both trains. The clock dial is a little loose. It is also scratched in places and there has been some retouching of the paintwork around the winding apertures in particular. The brass bezel is in good condition as is the glass.
