A SOUTH AFRICAN PRESENTATION TWIN TRAIN MANTLE CLOCKWith presentation plaque engraved '1000000 Tons Presented to Jack Van Elsen Johannesberg 1924', on wooden base, the clock designed as a shift clock with working miner striking a blue gem encrusted rock, hallmarked as silver-gilt and the rock is inset with blue gems, the drum case engraved with two shift start times, 4 inch dial, the clock 25 cm high, excluding baseCondition report: Rubbing to the gilding to some of the elements, and some tarnishing in other areas. The dial looks to be alabaster. Pendulum and key. We can not offer any guarantee of the working order of this clock or that it keeps good time, and suggest that the functionality of the movement is checked by a qualified clock specialist.
