[PRICE DENNIS]: (1915-1973) English Actor, remembered for his role as Louis Mazzini in Kind Hearts and Coronets (1949). Large selection of vintage unsigned postcard portraits featuring Price in various portrait poses, largely duplicated, including a head and shoulders study wearing a cravat (142), a half-length study holding a packet of cigarettes (84; each featuring facsimile signatures) and a head and shoulders study in costume (81; each featuring facsimile signatures) and also including a few other images of Price, some published in Germany, Picturegoers (2) etc. (20 in total; a little duplication). Together with a good selection of vintage unsigned 8 x 10 (and a few slightly smaller) publicity portraits and film stills relating to Dennis Price, showing him in costume from various films including The Bad Lord Byron (as Lord Byron, 1949), Oh - Rosalinda!! A William IV period scrimshaw engraved whale’s tooth, on one side head and shoulders bust of the king on a Roman column, background of flags and foliage, crown in wreath above and ornamental panel with “WR” below, all in rectangular frame with Masonic symbols above, and on the other side an Eastern potentate, wearing a turban, seated on a “magic” carpet, smoking a hookah, panel below inscribed “Clava”, 6” overall.
