2003 Suzuki TR50S Street Magic MopedRegistration no. FH03 BTFFrame no. JS1AH311300102102Engine no. 102078The very embodiment of the term 'funky moped', though in fact it was more like a mini-bike, the Suzuki TR50 Street Magic first appeared in 1997 and was built until 2005 when the revised Street Magic II arrived. The Street Magic featured a 49cc fan-cooled two-stroke engine producing 7.1bhp, which was suspended beneath a spine-type frame. Currently displaying a total of 12,008 kilometres on the odometer, this Street Magic appears to have been well looked after throughout its life and is described by the vendor as running and ready to ride. Last run in September 2021, the Suzuki appears to be a UK model; not many were sold here as they were relatively expensive. The machine is offered with its original handbooks and manuals together with old MoTs, repair bills and tax discs in the original dealer's wallet.Footnotes:As with all Lots in the Sale, this Lot is sold 'as is/where is' and Bidders must satisfy themselves as to the provenance, condition, age, completeness, and originality prior to bidding.Lot to be sold without reserve. For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com
MARSHALL JCM 900 COMBO AMPLIFIER. 50w High Gain Dual Reverb.A bit more normally... On 'The Echo and The Bunnymen Tour' our Liverpool friends used these amps on stage and they sounded fantastic. Barney suggested Gillian got them too. We scoured America to find some and had them shipped out at great cost. They were used for a while, but just didn’t have that 'Will Sergeant' magic.
Registration No: 430 XVKChassis No: BN1- L224662MOT: April 2022Supplied to the USA in left hand drive configurationFinished in desirable 'Ice Metallic Blue'Fitted with uprated '3000' front disk brakesDonald Healey's eponymous company built a prototype two-seater sports car for display at the 1952 London Motor Show. It was based on Austin A90 Atlantic mechanicals and sported a notably sleek body designed by Gerry Coker and built by Tickford. It was dubbed the 'Healey Hundred' (a moniker chosen to reflect the car's ability to reach the magic 100mph), and, subject to a suitably encouraging response, Healey planned to build production versions in-house at his factory in Warwick. As things transpired, not only did the Ice Blue prototype more than impress the public, but also so excited Austin's Managing Director, Leonard Lord, that he struck a deal to build the car in volume at Longbridge. The newcomer was renamed the Austin-Healey 100/4. The rest, as they say, is history. The 100/4's chassis was a departure from the company's previous backbone designs and comprised a pair of three-inch square box-section side members running the length of the car, some 17 inches apart. These were braced by parallel and cruciform cross-members to which the steel floor pressings were attached. After the first 25 cars had been constructed at Healey's own premises in Warwick, the production of the mainstream bodyshells was turned over to Jensen. Once complete, the shells were transported to Longbridge, where the Healeys were assembled alongside the A90.The early examples (code named BN1s) were equipped with the same 90bhp 2660cc engines and manual four-speed transmissions as the A90 though, in an unusual move, Austin modified the gearbox so it operated as a three-speed unit with overdrive on the top two ratios. The car had 11-inch drum brakes all round. The front suspension was independent by coil springs while the rear featured a traditional live axle supported by semi-elliptic leaf springs. Damping was by Girling lever arm units all round and the steering was by cam and lever. A 1953 BN1 tested by Motor magazine returned a top speed of 106mph and achieved the 0-60mph dash in 11.2 seconds. A total of 10,688 BN1s are believed to have been produced between January 1953 and 1955 (the vast majority of which went overseas), when the model was superseded by the BN2.This BN1 on offer is an original left-hand drive USA export market example and was the subject of must previous restoration work, reportedly carried out to an exceptional standard more than twenty years ago. The 'Big' Healey is now finished in Ice Blue (having been colour changed from the original Spruce Green) and is trimmed in complementing Navy Blue leather - The vendor states "it was a frame-off restoration that showcased a full respray (including the floor pans). You would not be able to tell the car was a different colour from factory unless you had been told previously. The car has just had a brand new soft top fitted as well as brand new side screens in case you were to get caught out in a storm. It’s also just had 5 new radial tyres and tubes. It also sports a new upgraded single 12V battery instead of the standard 2x6v batteries. All electronics work as they should including the well know troublesome self-cancelling indicator and horn switch. The seats are leather, carpets look well as do the door cards. Possibly the biggest highlight of this car is its California history — it is basically rust free from body to frame."The vendor states that the odemeter reads 12,213 and assures us that '430 XVK' "drives as well as it looks". A rare opportunity for the ever-growing army of early 'Big' Healey collectors to purchase a vehicle equally suited to a relaxing drive in the UK countryside, but with subtle upgrades and a left-hand driving position to make it a serious contender for continental and long-distance rallying. It comes complete with photographic evidence of the restoration and extensive service and MOT history, plus a current certificate valid into April 2022.For more information, please contact:Adam Sykesadam.sykes@handh.co.uk07429600332
A FRENCH PATINATED SPELTER AND GILT BRASS MOUNTED BELGE NOIR MARBLE FIGURAL MYSTERY MANTEL CLOCKAndre Romain Guilmet, Paris, late 19th century The circular countwheel bell striking movement with Guilmet`s crank and stirrup escapement connected via fixed crutch passing through the movement plates to a cylindrical steel post resting on pin pivot and carrying the moulded plinth for the figure surmount, the backplate stamped with oval GLT, BREVETTE, S.G.D.G. trademark and numbered 1678, the 4 inch gilt on black marble circular Roman numeral dial with gilt spade hands set behind egg-and-dart cast hinged bevel-glazed bezel, the rectangular plinth-form case with 'bronze' patinated spelter figural surmount cast as a standing Classical female holding aloft in her right hand the spring suspension for the glass inset bob pendulum above cavetto moulded top and strapwork scroll cartouche cast gilt side handles, the front with incised gilt scroll decorated infill around dial, on generous cavetto moulded skirt base with conforming decoration to front over scroll cast lions paw feet with scroll cast pendant apron between to front.71cm (28ins) high, 37cm (14.25ins) wide, 24cm (9.5ins) deep. Provenance: The Selwyn Demmy Collection. Andre Romain Guilmet (born on the 10th of December 1827 in La Ferte-Gaucher, France) was amongst a number of French clockmakers, including Robert Houdin, who responded to the nineteenth century Parisian passion for magic and conjuring by designing a clock which was inherently mysterious in nature. The mechanism which he devised was designed to give the impression that the pendulum, held by the figural surmount, appeared to oscillate without and impulse. This was achieved by standing the figure on a post which was pivoted on a pinpoint at the base, this allowed the figure itself to oscillate side to side imperceptibly. With this post connected to the specially designed escapement the impulse for the pendulum is ingeniously transferred through the figure. Guilmet was granted Patent for his invention in 1867, which was modified on 1872. The apparent popularity for his design of `Pendule a marche mysterieuse` can in part be due to the showing of such clocks at the various international exhibitions held in Paris and elsewhere throughout the latter quarter of the 19th century.Condition Report: Movement is in relatively clean working condition with no visible evidence of alteration or significant replacements. The dial is free from visible damage and appears to retain original gilding to the hands and incised numerals. The case is also generally in fine original condition with the figure being free from visible damage and repair and retaining its original 'bronze' patination in fine condition. The marble has a small chip to the upper left hand projection and another larger chip/loss to the lower edge of the skirt where the marble butts up to the front left hand foot. Otherwise damage to marble is limited to a few other small edge chips and light grey blooming to the surface. The gilding to the brass handle and mounts also has some noticeable historic wear. Overall generally a fine example in good original untouched condition.Clock has pendulum and a winding key. Condition Report Disclaimer

Lot No: 15 - Ref No: 005 All Creatures Great and Small By Elizabeth Kitson Summer Holiday Home: Dartmoor National Park Outreach Vehicle Sponsored by: West of England Motor Club "I first rode a pony on Dartmoor as a child nearly 80 years ago and went on to win the pony championship at the Royal international Horse Show aged 7. I went on to win the next two years running and later I wrote a book about my pony, Legend, who was born on Dartmoor. Riding every day Dartmoor's tors, scenery, wild flowers and animals were beautiful and exciting - a great escape from the restrictions of the war. Married life and teaching riding have taken me around the world, as well as many places in this country but I never forgot Dartmoor. I have been commissioned to paint many different living things from portraits of people to horses as well as landscapes and wildlife, I am interested to capture its essence and I especially love the colour and movement. I paint in oils, water colours, pastels, and my sculptures are cast in bronze. Painting is a great passion and as nature is under threat so I want to record the magic of it. I hope my otter, with its nearly two hundred images painted in enamel will inspire people to look at and preserve the natural world." This Otter is a 'Golden Otter' - one that has been specially selected by a panel of expert judges as being particularly stunning. Of the 81 Moor Otters there are only 25 Golden Otters. These Golden Otters will take their online bids to the live auction on Saturday, 2nd October 2021 at Bearnes, Hampton & Littlewood, Okehampton St, Exeter. You can continue to bid on these otters at the live auction in person or online.
Jean Bodin: 'De la Demonomanie des Sorciers: A Monseigneur M. Chrestofle de Thou, Cheualier, Seigneur de Cœli, premier president en la Cour de Parlement, & Conseiller du Roy en son priue Conseil...', Paris, Jacques du Puy, 1587, Bodin's major and influential work on sorcery and the witchcraft persecutions. The book relates histories of sorcerers, and gives a report of a 1552 public exorcism in Paris, and of the case of Magdalena de la Cruz of Cordova, an abbess who had confessed to sexual relations with the Devil over three decades. Bodin cites Pierre Marner on werewolf accounts from Savoie, and denounces the works of Cornelius Agrippa, and the perceived traffic in "sorceries" carried out along the Spanish Road, running along eastern France for much of its length. Leaves numbered ff218-252 cover refutations of the opinions of Johann Weyer (1515-1588), Dutch physician, occultist and demonologist, disciple and follower of Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa. Some internal browning, light waterstaining at top edge of some leaves, ff241 slight damage just affecting small part of text, "A.L.L.R." inkstamp to title page and manuscript pen and ink marginalia and annotations to several leaves throughout (circa 17th/18th Century, some slightly later to preface in brown pencil), final leaf numbered ff252, but 14 unnumbered leaves at front including title page, preface etc, before 256 numbered leaves (some mispagination including ff44 misnumbered 43, ff100 misnumbered 80, 2 x ff228, 3 leaves following ff243 and preceding ff244 incorrectly numbered 241,242 & 243, etc). Contemporary calf gilt (worn), inner joint at front reinforced (not recent), all edges marbled. A rare and important 16th Century work relating to demonology, witchcraft, occult, demonomania and magic.
