Willard The Wizard Magic Poster c' 1929 Willard The Wizard poster for Knoxville Tennessee c' 1929. "Willard" was one of a family of magicians who toured the Deep South annually in the early part of the 20th century. Although this style of poster has been extensively reproduced we have not seen another example with this venue detailed. The poster has obvious signs of age & bears a "Willard the Wizard" faded signature bottom left but we are unsure whether this poster is an original or a later (though old) re-print. Poster conservation paper-backed, faded with small areas of paper loss, scuffing & general wear & in fair condition only, poster 14" x 22"

The poster also references the magicians catch-phrase "Sim-Sala-Bim" (this betraying Dante's Scandinavian roots being the equivalent of "abracadabra").
