Levante was the stage name of Leslie George Cole (1892-1978) one of the most famous of all 20th century magicians & illusionists. Russian Kio Magic Poster c' 1953-56 Russian poster with the name "KIO" dominating & underneath an image of crowds/cars in front of an array of "KIO" billboards. Emil Kio (1894-1965) was the pre-eminent Russian magician of his age, the first to tour countries behind the "Iron Curtain" & the first to tour in the West (in 1959 in London with the Moscow State Circus). His sons Igor & Emil Jr toured under the Kio name after Emil Snr died. Poster conservation paper-backed with old foldlines & in excellent condition, some tears to paper-backing lower left corner area but these do not affect the poster, poster 31" x 42"

Dante Magic Poster 1939 This is thought to be the lower portion of the Dante "Sim-Sala-Bin" UK tour poster & shows the great man holding his detached head with two unfortunates fleeing a ghost, serpents, a skeleton, bats & the devil himself. A lovely colourful & exciting depiction which could not have failed to excite interest. The poster is signed by Ted Henty & dated "1950" lower left (Henty is believed to have been an ex-Policeman from Brighton who became interested in ghost-hunting & possible gave this to a friend). Levante Magic Poster c' 1930's Large British three sheet poster with a prominent image of the "Famous Australian Illusionist" pictured alongside the spirits of past great magicians including Houdini, Chung Ling Soo, Kellar, Carl Hertz, Lafayette & De Biere & a pipe playing satyr in the corner. Large posters like this would often have been pasted onto billboards & sides of buildings & few will have survived. A wonderful memento of C19th & early 20th century magic. The support included the late 1950's-early 60's singer Vince Eager. A relatively early Paul Daniels poster (the BBC "Paul Daniels Magic Show" was not to air until June 1979 & ran thereafter for fifteeen years). Two Gogia Pasha Magic Posters c' mid-1950's The Great Gogia Pasha World Tour poster proclaims Pasha's Egyptian heritage (though he was born in Pakistan) & presents a colourful image of the man upper right with examples of his magic tricks below including his sword levitation act. To the upper left is the unusual image of a devil figure flying naked. Printed in Bombay, the poster also notes Gogia Pasha's "permanat (sic) address" in India. Accompanied with this lot is a separate card poster with a photographic image of the "Egyptian" magician. Jagana Magic Poster c' 1946-47 A generic tour poster with upper left blank for venue details to be added. The all-seeing mystic Jagana is billed as "The World's Most Astounding Phenomenon" & is pictured staring intently. It is claimed that his predictions "To-day" "The News Print Tomorrow!!" though it might have been argued that "The Collapse Of Germany" & "The Allied Victory" were probably quite likely after D-Day in 1944. Dan Leano Magic Poster 1927 Professor Dan Leano (Daniel Jones 1877-1943) was a Welsh magician & entertainer. This poster from Sept 1927 advertises a perormance of his "Novelty Dance Orchestra" at a Southsea Whist Drive & Dance. The poster carries portrait photos of Leano & his sons either side. Poster conservation paper-backed with old foldlines, small sticker bottom right corner & fountain pen annotations under each Leano photo, overall good condition, 10" x 25"

Chung Ling Soo Magic Poster c' 1910 British poster depicting the "oriental" magician in a thoughtful pose with pagodas in the background & his name above in a bamboo effect font. Chung Ling Soo was the pseudonym for American William Ellsworth Robinson (1861-1918), the American maintaining his oriental persona off stage in an early example of "method acting". Chung Ling Soo became world renowned & is considered one of the premier magicians of all time. The magician met his death on stage in London during a "catching bullet" routine which was unsuccessful. Poster printed by Horrocks & Co Ltd, Art Printers, Ashton U. Lyne. Poster autographed to paper backing reverse by Paul Daniels. Poster conservation paper-backed with two pin-holes to upper rim corners but otherwise in excellent unfolded condition. Poster retains original white rim border, poster 19 3/4" x 29 1/2"

Poster folded with several small conservation tape repairs to edge nicks to reverse, slight yellowing to upper & small pencil annotation to top right corner, overall in good condition, 20" x 30"

Jeffery Atkins Magic Poster c' 1966 For the "Grand International Gala Of Magic" held at the White Rock Pavilion Hastings & featuring Jeffery Atkins, American Richard Zimmerman (a later collaborator with David Copperfield), Bobo, Phil Haig, The Amazing Mr Rooklyn etc. Interestingly the printers, Wilsons Ltd, Leicester, used the blue magical illustrationon this poster as a template for a variety of other magic related posters. Poster folded & in excelllent condition, 20" x 30"

Chung Ling Soo Magic Poster c' 1910 British poster for Chung Ling Soo presenting a photographic image of the "Marvellous Chinese Conjurer" set in front of an illustrated floral display. The poster carries "Registered Design" text to lower left corner with the printers logo above: "Horrocks & Co Ltd, Art Printers, Ashton U. Lyne. England". Paul Daniels has signed the reverse of the poster backing in pencil. Poster conservation paper-backed with two neat pin-holes to upper corners, a closed 1/2" tear to mid-right rim & overall in very good condition, poster 20" x 29 1/4"
