An early 20th century Chinese silkwork scroll painting, depicting a ceremonial figure landscape scene, watercolour on paper within silk worked border, with calligraphy and seal mark upper left, image dimensions 146 x 99cm (with significant staining and rippling to paper, with vertical repair)
Edward Tucker (c.1847-1910) - Watercolour - Bristol City Docks, unsigned, verso titled on remnants of original label, 46.5cm x 66.6cm Condition: Two vertical stripes of discolouration run the entire top to bottom of the painting, some minor fade and foxing - **General condition consistent with age
Edward Horace Thompson (1879-1949), watercolour, "By Wastwaters Lonely Shore" with Yewbarrow Crag, Great Gable, Scawfell and The Screes. 8 ins x 10 ins, framed, signed. CONDITION REPORT: There is some discolouration to the purple hues on the left and right hand rocky outcrops. There is also some discolouration of the paint in the reflection of the scree to the right hand side of the image. There is further discolouration around the wall in the foreground. It may be that the picture has suffered from foxing in the past and been cleaned. Other than this the painting is in generally reasonable condition. The frame is in reasonable order but a little tired with scuff marks down the right and left hand sides. It is serviceable but could do with some slight renovation.
T.M. Richardson, watercolour, "View on Newhaven Sands 1836". 8.5 ins x 13 ins, framed, inscribed on mount (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The painting is in generally good condition as far as we can tell. It is framed and under glass. There are the beginnings of slight foxing marks which should be visible from our image but none of these are in our opinion significant. The colours are generally strong and there does not appear to be any significant fading. The background paper upon which the image is painted is a uniform colour.
T.M. Richardson, watercolour, "Casting the Nets". 8.5 ins x 13 ins, framed, inscribed on mount (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This picture is framed and glazed. The painting appears to be in generally good condition and there is no evidence of any foxing. The top left hand corner of the painting is quite brown in colour and this moves across the sky to the centre of the picture. We are not sure if this is intentionally that colour or not. Also the mid ground above the cottage and across to the right of the painting is for want of a better word misty. Again we are not sure how intentional this is

Thomas Girtin (British 1775-1802) circa 1797/St Pauls Cathedral from St Martin-le-Grand/signed lower left/watercolour with bodycolour and gum Arabic on fibrous hemp/linen broad laid wrapping, 47cm x 38cm/Note: Girtin's boyhood was spent at 2 St Martin-le-Grand, where his widowed mother kept a wood turners shop, he alludes to it in the sign F. Girton, Toy Maker in this watercolour, a typical little joke from the artist. Girtin made three versions of this view: an unfinished, grey wash drawing (Yale Centre for British Art) and a watercolour (Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York), both around 1795. The present watercolour, with different figures, is the most vividly coloured and accomplished; the high-waisted dress of the fashionable lady at the right suggests that it was made circa 1798, The subtle play of light on the curving street and the lively, witty street life reflects Girtin's delight in the bustling metropolis. Our thanks go to Susan Morris for helping us attribute this watercolour directly to Thomas Girtin, and to Father Stephen Horton of Prinknash Abbey for encouraging us to research this watercolour further./Provenance: Plas Gwyn, Anglesey Condition Report: Condition: the painting is overall in good condition, there is a small amount of foxing, the gum Arabic has slightly oxidised, the colours are quite fresh but the paper has browned a bit. Provenance: this painting comes from Plas Gwyn, Anglesey, North Wales The painting is not recorded but has been authenticated by Susan Morris, the senior researcher at Richard Green Gallery, New Bond Street, London, who is considered in the UK as a leading expert on Girtin. We believe that the watercolour was probably bought by Paul Panton of Plas Gwyn, an industrialist and antiquarian, however the present family are unsure of the date of its purchase. We found the watercolour in the attic at Plas Gwyn, the frame and glass were broken but luckily the picture was in good condition, it has never been touched or restored we have added a mount and frame for its protection. The paper is fibrous hemp lined broad laid paper, typical of Girtin’s usual choice, it has however been fixed to another sheet of paper
