Cup Final v Liverpool at the Millennium Stadium. Shaun Newton was not selected for the team or bench and consequently the shirt was never required. Newton had in fact tested positive for cocaine following West Ham's semi-final victory over Middlesbrough and as a consequence later received a seven months ban by the Football Association following the outcome of a disciplinary committee hearing.
