DUESENBERG FREDERICK: (1876-1932) German Automobile Designer and Manufacturer. Scarce T.L.S., Frederick Duesenberg, one page, 4to, Indianapolis, 4th January 1928, to an unknown correspondent ('To whom it may concern'), on the printed stationery of Duesenberg Automobile & Motors Co., Inc. Duesenberg writes a letter of reference for a former employee, stating, in part, 'Mr. Harrison Spencer was in my employ for the most part of two years in engineering and drafting which required superior ability through urgent problems of mechanical design… he has unusual originality and inventiveness… adhering to the best standards of design and engineering practices… and his services rated the highest degree of excellence both as to quality of work and time required.' BURTON RICHARD: (1925-1984) Welsh Actor. T.L.S., Richard Burton, one page, 4to, motor yacht Kalizma, 4th September 1969, to 'To whom it may concern', on the printed stationery of Elizabeth and Richard Burton, M.Y. Kalizma. Burton informs his correspondent, in full, 'This letter is to authorise Miss Jennifer Toomey of Nurses Home, Frenchay Hospital, Bristol, to use my automobile, a white Oldsmobile Tornado, Swiss registration No. BE 209019, for her own use and in connection with transportation for my brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ivor Jenkins.' Very light overall creasing, otherwise VG M.Y. Kalizma, an Edwardian luxury yacht launched in 1906. Richard Burton bought the Kalizma for Elizabeth Taylor in 1967. The yacht was named after his children Kate, Liza and Maria. The Oldsmobile Tornado, purchased by Elizabeth Taylor during the filming of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf as a 40th birthday gift for her husband and co-star, Richard Burton.

A little duplication, mostly in good to very good condition, the UST examples were printed on poor-quality paper and are somewhat tatty. [74]
