MANSON CHARLES: (1934-2017) American Criminal who led the cult-based Manson Family, responsible for multiple deaths (including the murder of Sharon Tate) and the subject of Quentin Tarantino's film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. A.L.S., Ride Easy, Charles Milles Manson, a rare form of his full signature, also incorporating several doodles including a smiling face, one page, 4to, n.p., (San Quentin State Prison, California), n.d. (18th October 1985), to Nuel Melton Emmons. Writing in bold pencil, Manson provides the addresses of a J. Mason in Ohio and Frederick Sternkopf in California and enquires 'Did you ever click with Rags old lady', further commenting in a postscript, 'Man all the picks are the same. When you drop by we can cut up the TV program & we need to talk this paper mark…..& a few other things'. Accompanied by the original envelope hand addressed by Manson, also in pencil. VG  Nuel Melton Emmons (1927-2002) American photojournalist and biographer of Manson. Emmons first met Manson briefly when he was imprisoned for automobile theft in 1956, and again under similar circumstances in 1960. In 1979, he contacted Manson and began extensive interviews and his correspondence with Manson resulted in the book In His Own Words - The Shocking Confessions of the Most Dangerous Man Alive (1986).

(18th September 1986), to Nuel Melton Emmons. Manson enquires as to how his correspondent obtained the address of Dead Grass ('I didn't even know you knew where he was - nore [sic] did I think he even knew you let alone know where you live????') and continues to provide an address for Fringe Productions in Toronto who would like to play the tapes, further writing 'You never let me know much, not that it would make much difference. Did they pay you not to put the book out. I thought you were gone on down the road & each time I think that you surprize me. I am begaining (sic) to think you like me…..I got 11 pictures - the crooks took one…..Red [i.e. Lynette 'Squeaky' Fromme, 'Red' being her name within the Manson Family] say she can't git tapes in her last letter…..I sent you the card to see if it matches up with whatever - a big part of what happens to me is in your hands'. RENAULT LOUIS: (1877-1944) French Industrialist. A pioneer of the automobile industry and founder of Renault. Renault strongly contributed with his Company to the World War one French government requests, but was accused of collaboration with enemy at the end of WWII. He was arrested in September 1944, and died a month later while in prison and before his trial took place. The provisional government of the French republic nationalized Renault´s company. A good A.L.S., Louis, one page, oblong 8vo, Paris, 5th February 1932, on his personal printed stationery with his printed heading address “90, Avenue Foch”, to his mistress Jeanne Hatto, in French. Renault sends a close and affectionate letter, stating `Que te dire - Que j´ai eu un infini plaisir a recevoir ton gentil mot de felicitations - Oui c´est vrai aussi merci de tout coeur - Je voudrais bien passer te voir. J´y pense souvent!..´ (“What can I tell you - That I had an infinite pleasure to receive your kind word of congratulations - Yes it is also true, thank you with all my heart - I would like to come and see you. I often think about it!..”) Accompanied by the original envelope, addressed in his hand, postmarked and stamped. VG    Jeanne Hatto, French opera singer, was Renault´s mistress for a long period of time. Renault offered her in 1905 a hotel in Paris, a large property and an important amount of money. They maintained a good relationship even after putting an end to their relationship. Hatto sent a letter to him while arrested which he never could read.

Dambuster 617 Squadron F/O Ray Grayston signed Training for the Dams 617 Squadron Practice Operations FDC PM 617 Squadron 65th Anniversary The Dambusters Southampton Lincoln. Raymond Ernest Grayston was born on 13 October 1918 in Dunsfold, Surrey, and worked as an automobile engineer before the war. Like many young men of his generation, Grayston was fascinated by flying and volunteered for the RAF at the beginning of the war. In a TV documentary to mark the 60th anniversary of the Dams Raid he described how he loved riding a motorbike at speed, and that this was one of the things which encouraged him into the air force. Initially he served as ground crew but then, along with many others who were mechanically minded, he was selected to train as a flight engineer on the new generation of heavy bombers which needed more personnel. He was posted to 50 Squadron in October 1942, and teamed up with Les Knight, who had just formed a new crew. He flew on some 18 operations with this crew before they were posted en bloc to 617 Squadron in March 1943. Good condition. All autographs come with a Certificate of Authenticity.
