Automobile Engineer 1910/11 and 1950s. A hardbound volume 1, small folio in dark green cloth with gilt lettering to the spine holding the monthly issues from June 1910 to Dec 1911, the issues bound without the covers and advertisements. Numerous illustrations, text figures, black-and-white photographs and tables. The cloth covers a little rubbed and marked but the contents sound. Together with about 50 loose issues in good condition from the 1950s (including a few duplicates). One box.
The Automobile Engineer 1920s and 1930s. Two boxes, one containing about 25 issues from the 1920s, most in individual transparent polythene sleeves, and all with their covers and advertisements and generally good condition, and the other about 24 copies from the 1930s, but these mostly in less good condition, with some covers missing and some loose, though still appearing to be otherwise complete and with the magazine's advertisements. The Beaulieu Encyclopaedia of the Automobile, edited by Nick Georgano and published in two volumes in 2000 by The Stationery Office, London. These books were claimed to be 'The most comprehensive book ever written about the world of cars and set to become a must-have for anyone with a love of motoring'. Both volumes retain the marginalia and crossings out in the manuscript hand of Bryan Goodman. The complementary volume titled Coachbuilding is also offered. All in good condition. (3)
Automobile. - Privates Photoalbum einer autovernarrten Schweizer Familie mit ca. 170 fest montierten Vintage-Photos in Schwarz-Weiß. 24,5 x 33 cm. Leinenalbum d. Z. mit Kordellheftung. (Schweiz, ca. 1926-1928).Unter den überwiegend privaten Schnappschüssen (Familie und Freunde, Wohnhäuser, touristische Ziele, Ausflüge etc.) finden sich rund 40 historische Photos von Automobiltypen der zwanziger Jahre, die während illustrer, teils vom Schweizer Automobilclub T.C.S. organisierten Ausfahrten aufgenommen wurden, darunter neben privaten wohl auch einige als Postkarten kursierende Aufnahmen sowie drei Darstellungen von Kinderautomobilen, sogenannten Seifenkisten. Als spektakulär zu gelten hat wohl die Clubausfahrt auf den verschneiten Grimselpass, das Photo mit der Passage durch einen Lawinensturz schaffte es sogar in die Deutsche Illustrierte Zeitung (der entsprechende Zeitungsausschnitt ist mit eingeklebt). - Nur wenige Photos fleckig.
