The Hans Schifferle Collection 1993 Triumph Speed Triple 750Registration no. not registeredFrame no. SMTTC337BEV045315Engine no. none visibleTriumph's immensely successful streetfighter-style Speed Triple first appeared in 1993 as a 1994 model (this example was first registered in September 1993). Based on the successful Daytona super-sports model, the Speed Triple kept its progenitor's 885cc three-cylinder engine (in slightly de-tuned, 97bhp form) but dispensed with its race fairing in favour of a more aggressive, stripped-down look. In addition to the mainstream 885cc Speed Triple, there was also a 750cc version built for certain markets in Europe such as Germany. The original Speed Triple was replaced in 1996 by the T509, still with the 885cc motor (now producing 108bhp) but benefiting from a new aluminium-alloy frame. This Speed Triple 750 has had only two owners from new and was purchased by Hans in June 2010 (at 4,500 kilometres) from Häusler Automobile GMBH (a Honda dealer). Helmut Lichtenberg changed the exhaust system (the original was slightly discoloured) to bring the Triumph up to Hans' usual standard! The machine is very nicely presented but would benefit from detailing. Currently displaying a total of 6,207 kilometres on the odometer, the machine is offered with a German Fahrzeugbrief; the 2010 purchase receipt; an expired TüV (MoT) certificate and correspondence; and an owner's manual. Registration No: POL 506MChassis No: GD2D1816GMOT: May 2022Genuine, chrome bumper V8 that was originally finished in Blaze Orange with Black upholstery and supplied new via T. Startin Ltd of AstonOld MOTs and invoices on file dating back to 1979 and current registered keeper since 1998Treated to an extensive restoration by Peter Green Motors Ltd during the late 1980s / early 1990s According to its accompanying British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate, chassis GD2D1816G was built between October 12th and November 28th 1973 and despatched to dealer T. Startin Ltd of Aston, Birmingham early the following month. Finished in Blaze Orange with Black upholstery, the 2+2-seater’s original specification also included overdrive and cast alloy wheels. A handwritten log on file chronicles the MG’s ownership history from new until late 1994, while other paperwork and photos show that it was treated to a top-end engine overhaul, four new wings, replacement inner / outer sills, re-trimmed interior, stainless steel exhaust, repaint and reconditioned gearbox by Peter Green Motors Ltd during the late 1980s / early 1990s. Acquired by its current registered keeper twenty-three years ago, ‘POL 506M’ has been regularly maintained and MOT tested since then. Passing its most recent MOT test on 12th May 2021, the 2+2-seater was entrusted to A&J Halliday Automobile Engineers during September this year for the fitment of eight new spark plugs and a partial carburettor overhaul. Rated by the vendor as being in ‘very good overall’ condition with regards to its V8 engine, gearbox, electrical equipment, interior trim, bodywork and paintwork, he further tells us that the MG ‘drives very well’. A genuine, ‘chrome bumper’ car, this appealing B GT V8 is offered for sale with V5C Registration Document and history file.Created by Mini racer turned car tuner Ken Costello, the first Rover V8-engined MGB appeared in 1970. Suitably impressed, the Abingdon manufacturer began work on an 'official' version the following year. Introduced in August 1973, the resultant MGB GT V8 looked disarmingly standard. Borrowing its four-speed manual plus overdrive gearbox and rear-end transmission from the six-cylinder MGC (but doing without that model's 'power bulge' bonnet thanks to the use of a special low-rise exhaust manifold), it utilised the same monocoque bodyshell and suspension layout as the four-cylinder MGB (their respective powerplants being near identical in weight). Thus, although it necessitated a modified bulkhead, raised ride height, bespoke gear ratios and upgraded front disc brakes, the installation of the all-alloy 3528cc Rover V8 proved relatively straightforward. Credited with 137bhp and 193lbft of torque, the Buick-derived unit imbued the MGB with a hitherto unknown level of performance. Reputedly capable of 0-60mph in 7.7 seconds and 124mph, the MGB GT V8 was favourably received by the contemporary motoring press. Only in production for three years, a mere 2,591 are thought to have been made.Footnote: For more information, please contact:Damian Jonesdamian.jones@handh.co.uk07855 493737

Dick Simms (American, B. 1932) "Buckboard 1880s" Signed lower right. Original Mixed Media painting on Illustration Board. Provenance: Collection of James A. Helzer (1946-2008), Founder of Unicover Corporation. This painting is the original painting which was published on the Fleetwood First Day of Issue Maximum Card for the U.S. 4.9c Buckboard 1880s stamp issued June 21, 1985. Before the advent of the automobile and other modern forms of transportation, the horse-drawn carriage was one of the most popular ways to travel. Through the years, carriages were developed to fit particular needs, especially road conditions. One of these specialized carriages was the buckboard. The buckboard was especially suited for use on rough country roads which made it popular in the American west. The sturdily built buckboard was able to haul people and supplies along deeply rutted and unpaved roadways. Because of its tough but light construction, it was able to travel into remote areas a larger freight wagon could not go. A low-slung vehicle, it had one or more seats which were placed on risers mounted on one or more flexible, spring like boards bolted directly to the axles. In later years, some models of the buckboard were equipped with springs. Image Size: 12.25 x 16.75 in. Overall Size: 14.75 x 19.75 in. Unframed. (B09481)

1979 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith II Transmission: automaticMileage:116000The Rolls-Royce marque has long been the benchmark of automobile for which many aspired to. The Silver Wraith II is an extended wheelbase version of the popular Silver Shadow II and it was named in honour of the first post-war Rolls-Royce. The Silver Wraith was further distinguished from its shorter wheelbase stablemate by the fitting of the Corniche/Camargue-pattern wheel trims. Changes to the Silver Shadow that carried over to this more upscale model included the addition of rack-and-pinion steering, plus significant improvements to the front suspension that also helped improve the handling and overall performance. These changes ushered in more modern standards that were already available on selected competitors in this fashionable field of vehicles. The larger Silver Wraith was considered the top of the range for Rolls-Royce in this period and also stands apart due to its Everflex covered roof and small rear window. Increasingly sought after by interested collectors, only 2,135 Silver Wraiths were manufactured by the time production ended in October of 1980.This 1979 Wraith II has been well looked after during its 42 year life by its few long term owners. Presented with original owner’s manuals and a well stamped service book showing works undertaken by various dealers including Dutton Forshaw, Wadham Stringer and supplying dealer Dyer. During the vendors tenure, this impressive looking Rolls-Royce has benefitted from equally impressive servicing and maintenance including a braking system overhaul, re-connolising, fitment of new Everflex roof, repainting, overhaul of carburettors, air conditioning service and new headlamps. The total cost of these works is in excess of £15,000 with the most recent service being undertaken in August 2021. This car is also fitted with a fully documented Autogas LPG conversion and comes complete with fitting certificate and UK and European filler nozzles. The tank is located in the boot and the filler is cleverly hidden behind the petrol filler door. Offered to auction with a V5C registration document, this Rolls-Royce is ready to be enjoyed by a new custodian.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 216

1979 Porsche 911 / 930 Turbo by RUF BTR Transmission: manualMileage:147943Those that know Porsche, know RUF. As AMG is to Mercedes-Benz, RUF take already formidable driving machines and turn them into psychotic hooligans. In a small village in the Allgau region, west of Munich, is the home of RUF Automobile GmbH, a small company who, in conjunction with Porsche, has rewritten the rule books using their own very special font. Production began in earnest in 1983 with the first vehicle to bear a RUF chassis number, a 3.4 litre Turbo model pushing out 374hp through a RUF developed five-speed manual gearbox, arrived. It wasn’t just about raw power; a special instrument was developed, twin spark plugs installed, RUF harness, seats and steering wheel. These upgrades were all cloaked in a new RUF BTR (standing for Group B Turbo RUF) Turbo bodywork.RUF concentrates not only on engine, transmission and body, but also on wheels and brakes with RUF 17” forged Speedline alloy wheels complementing the model range as well RUFs classic four-pipe exhaust and 17” tyres (originally developed for the 959) resulting from a close co-operation with tyre manufacturer, Dunlop. The CTR followed, a lightweight coupé powered by a 469hp, 3.4 litre, twin-turbo engine. This ‘Yellowbird’ as it came to be known, set new benchmarks for street-legal, performance sports cars. It destroyed its peers such as the Ferrari F40, AMG Mercedes-Benz and even the works-tuned Porsche 959. It was in that same year that the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) certified RUF as an automobile manufacturer in its own right. To this day RUF continues to source 'bodies-in-white' directly from Porsche to then produce bespoke sports cars to their new owner’s specification and with each very special set of characteristics. This early lefthand drive RUF BTR with a 3.3 turbo engine is believed to be one of between 70 and 80 examples bearing an original Porsche chassis number and the car still features on their website.First registered in 1979, this Porsche 911/930 Turbo was significantly upgraded to BTR specification in circa 1985 using original RUF parts. The plaque on the glovebox indicates the conversion was completed by the authorised Japanese RUF importer, Ishida Engineering, in conjunction with RUF HQ. Indeed, the RUF factory in Pfaffenhausen, Germany, has supplied a recent letter confirming the originality of all RUF parts and modifications.• RUF five-speed gearbox• RUF single piece forged Speedline alloy wheels (9x17 & 10x17)• RUF twin double tailpipes and exhaust muffler• RUF cockpit Turbo Boost Control• RUF Turbo body kit: deeper bumpers front and rear, and thicker-set side skirts,• RUF badged engine lid• RUF DTM grafted racing wing mirrors• RUF embossed steering wheel• RUF badged instrument cluster with turbo boost gauges• RUF embossed gear lever• RUF floor carpets• Ishida Engineering/RUF plaque on the glovebox• Original RUF specified Recaro racing bucket seats with harnessesSpecified originally in Grand Prix White, this purposeful-looking BTR is fully registered in the UK, fully serviced and comes with a full up-to-date MoT test certificate. Importantly though, it also comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche themselves as well as a Certificate of Authenticity from RUF.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.
