The earliest examples of an Arabic version of Psalms are on a papyrus dating to the late eighth or ninth century. The two surviving leaves of this papyrus codex contain psalms 7–13, sandwiched between other stories and poetry about death and the afterlife. For a discussion on Arabic Psalms see David Vishanoff, Psalms of the Muslim Prophet David Rewritten Bible in a Qur’anic Idiom, March 10, 2019 published online.
