A turned wooden bowl with cast copy of Davison's 'Battle of the Nile' bronze medal (originally issued 1798) inset to centre showing the obverse; with felt to base and printed paper label in manuscript style reading 'This is made from the Victory's / Main Mast close to which the / Immortal NELSON fell / on the 21st October 1805 / Alexr Davison' in five lines. The wood of the bowl appears to be mahogany (or teak) whereas the masts and yards for ships of this period were fabricated from pine or fir. [No Reserve]. Fine condition.
