Miss Vesta Tilley poster printed by Stafford & Co Ltd Netherfield near Nottingham design no. 4266 from a photo by Foulsham & Banfield London W. (20 x 30 inch) This personality poster has a lovely art nouveau border surround and emphasizes the feminine side to this most famous male impersonator of the era in the UK and US. Born in 1874 in Commandery Street, Worcester Vesta was nicknamed after the safety match. There is an archivally repaired vertical closed tear from top to bottom and some border tears (no paper loss) a very early poster with an early Stafford logo circa 1890s. Plus The Merry Widow Original Theatrical poster from Mr George Edwardes Repertoire co. printed by Stafford & Co Ltd, Netherfield near Nottingham design no. 4092 (20 x 30 inch). These are from the 1890s or earlier. Archivally repaired horizontal tear along the fold line plus a vertical repaired closed tear from top to bottom and an 8 inch repaired tear at the top with corner tips missing. Four Vesta Tilley metal printing plates measuring 24 x 29 inch. Five Vesta Tilley negatives measuring 18 x 26 inch. CMYK plates used in the Stafford printing factory in Nottingham.
