A 15CT GOLD AND DIAMOND BROOCH having a central brilliant cut diamond measuring 0.10cts approx, within an incised circular star setting and rope twist surround with ball ornaments, flanked by foliate scrolls, marked 15 and 625 to reverse, sold with an associated safety chain with ribbon form pin, marked 9ct. 5grams.

Length 54 mm (see illustration).

Presidency Volunteer Rifle Battalion Officer’s Tunic and an Officer’s Waist Belt of the Calcutta Scottish Volunteers, a very rare and fine quality example in drab cloth with stand and fall collar and two breast pockets, the collar badges in silver plate feature a Guelphic crown over a Bath cross in the centre the letters ‘PRVB’ with laurel sprays in surround, the plated buttons display the Imperial Victorian crown over script initials ‘PVRB’ and the plated shoulder titles show block capitals ‘PVRB’. The very fine silver laced waist belt has a large silver plated rectangular plate with a gilt mount featuring a KC over a semi-Thistle style cross this being overlaid with full achievement of arms of the city of Calcutta, the belt is lined in red moroccan and is gold blocked, ‘Phelps & Co. Calcutta Simla Lahore Quetta’, the tunic circa 1891-1898, the waist belt circa 1902-39, excellent condition £300-500 Formed as Reserve Battalion in 1888, taking the above title in 1891, re-titled the Presidency Battalion Calcutta Volunteer Rifles in 1898, the 37th Calcutta Presidency Battalion in 1917, dropping the number in 1920. Amalgamated with with the Calcutta Battalion in 1926 to form The Presidency Battalion.

An early 19th century shell cameo brooch, the oval cameo carved to depict the Rondanini Medusa, with a gold and turquoise set cannetille surround, 3.1cm long **condition report: Overall wear commensurate with age. Two small areas of cannetille work missing. No chips, crazes or cracks to the cameo. No signs of repair.
A pair of yellow topaz and colourless paste earrings, the pear shaped foil backed yellow topazes set in closed back silver mounts within a surround of cushion shaped colourless pastes, suspended by colourless paste foliate spray tops, mounted throughout in silver, with fish hook fittings, 3.6cm long Please note: No date given for these earrings**condition report: Overall wear commensurate with age.One very minor nick to the topazes, no chips, foiling good. All colourless pastes are present, three probably replaced, some with light surface scuffs. Fish hook fittings are probably later, otherwise no signs of damage or repair.
An early Victorian diamond brooch, circa 1840, the central cluster claw set with a cushion shaped old cut diamond, approximately 1.00 carats, claw set in an open backed collet within a surround of cushion shaped old cut diamonds in a scrolled mount of cushion shaped old cut diamonds, mounted in gold backed silver, 5.2cm long **condition report: Overall wear commensurate with age and use. The central diamond is SI2/PK1 Clairy (large inclusion in the table), all the other diamonds are present and apeear original, none are chipped. The central diamond cluster is possibly a later addition. The brooch fittings are later, with very neatly patched gold plates carefully cut out to match te design of the brooch.
A Georgian gold, emerald and half pearl ring, circa 1780, the central foil backed cut cornered emerald claw set in a fluted closed backed cut down collet within a surround of half pearls, above bifurcated shoulders applied with daggers on a plain shank, finger size K **condition report: Overall very light wear. Slight surface abraisions to the emerald, no cracks or chips, foiling good. All half pearls present and appear original, one with a small crack, one with small nacre loss. Possibly later re-shanked. No other signs of damage.
A Georgian gold and flat cut garnet heart locket, circa 1780, the central glazed heart with a hinged opening back, set within a scroll and bow surround of flat cut garnets, 2.7cm long overall **condition report: Overall loght wear commensuarte with age and use. All garnets are present, three possibly later replacements, none are chipped. No signs of damage or repair to the mount.
A mid Victorian gold, enamel, diamond and half pearl pendant and earring suite, circa 1870, the horse shoe pendant with a central star burst set with a cushion shaped old brilliant cut diamond within a surround of rose cut diamonds, inset within a blue enamel bosse and a graduated border of half pearls, with a glazed locket to the back, with a rose cut diamond three stone suspension loop, 6cm long, attached to a fancy curb link chain, the en suite drop earrings with glazed locket backs and later screw fittings, 5cm long, all in a red leather bound Harman & Co Ltd & Lambert fitted case
