1978 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II Transmission: automaticMileage:58000Whilst the Yichang Factory in China assembles a car every 46 seconds, over here we take our time. And it shows. For every Silver Shadow that Rolls-Royce produced in Crew during the 1970s and 80s, the highly focused and specialised workforce spent 12 weeks putting each one together. From the advanced fully-independent and self-levelling suspension to the all-aluminium 6.75 litre, V8 engine with its power-output tactfully described as "adequate". As modern as the engineering was beneath the skin, every owner was still afforded the last word in luxury and refinement with Connolly leather and burr walnut, a symphony of the most elegant of automotive interiors. This ULEZ-exempt example is presented in the rare-optioned metallic Silver Sand with a beige interior piped in dark brown with Cumberland Stone carpets, lambswool over-rugs and footrests. The Cumberland Stone carpets also continue into the boot, a feature rarely seen, compared to standard black. Also included is a dark brown dash-top with beige knee-roll and radio surround. This Silver Shadow II also boasts the Harvey Bailey handling package, passenger door mirror controllable from the inside and lightly tinted Sundym glass all round in fact, the interior of this car is hard to fault especially when combined with ice-cold (updated system to R134A) air conditioning.Originally delivered to Lex Mead Rolls-Royce in Bristol, it was then immediately transferred to Jack Barclay in London whereupon it was sold to the first owner. A comprehensive service history, initially from Jack Barclay then Haines & Hall followed by specialists can be found within a stamped service book in the original owner's pack alongside all receipts, MoT's test certificates and a documented summary of all service work. Another recent addition includes new hydraulic brakes and suspension pipes, four new and correct Avon Turbospeed tyres, a jack and toolkit in the boot and both original ignition keys. Serviced less than 200 miles ago, it will nonetheless receive another light service prior to delivery as well and a full MoT test certificate. The Financial Times Weekend supplement recently tipped the Silver Shadow as one of the best investments you can make currently. Historics would not disagree with that august publication in this instance.
2012 Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupé Transmission: automaticMileage:36177A historic model in the continuing history of the Rolls-Royce marque, the Phantom was the first all-new design to be introduced by the company following its takeover by BMW. Produced at a new factory near Goodwood in Sussex, the Phantom revived a great name from Rolls-Royce's past, which had always been synonymous with unrestrained luxury. In keeping with the tradition established by previous Phantoms, the newcomer was a very large motor car, outstretching the old Silver Seraph by 18 while boasting a radiator shell four inches taller. Priced at around £260,000 at time of launch, it was also 40% more expensive. While the body structure represented the ultimate in automotive technology, its accoutrements remained entirely traditional in choice of materials, consisting of the finest hide trim, genuine woollen carpets, and carefully selected wood veneers. This Phantom Coupé was originally registered by Rybrook Rolls-Royce as a demonstrator and was specified in this stunning colour combination of Metropolitan Blue with Seashell extended leather interior. The car was purchased by the vendor in 2013 and has been cherished ever since, maintained regardless of cost and presented in absolutely immaculate condition. The original specification includes the all-important starlight leather headlining, Piano black veneer, 21" fully polished alloy wheels, automatic soft close doors and boot lid, two Rolls-Royce door umbrellas, front and rear parking cameras, garage door opener, 15 speaker premium surround sound, active cruise control, sat nav, Bluetooth, ambient interior lighting, heated seats and automatic Spirit of Ecstasy. Quite simply, this car is the very height of luxury, there is nothing aside from a private jet which would be better appointed for a journey to the south of France.Further cementing just how fastidious the vendor is, the car had over £12,000 of paintwork in 2018, just to bring it up to the standard he desired, attending to any stone chips which had been picked-up over the preceding years. A further £8,205 was spent in 2021, attending to rubber seals around the windows, doors, wings, arch clips and so on, the car now must be seen to be fully appreciated. These cars are sure to go down as one of the most desirable modern Rolls-Royce's in years to come, produced in such small numbers and beginning to look even better with age, this example would be the perfect addition to any collection of significant cars.
Registration OU56 KVSChassis Number SAJAC73R97TH13622Engine Number 0606170912TGOdometer reading 95,500 milesEstimateNo ReserveJaguar's long-standing commitment to creating beautiful, contemporary, fast cars was reinforced once again with the unveiling of the special edition 400bhp XJR Portfolio. The Concept Eight was the first time that Jaguar had shown its new performance styling to the public and the reaction was so positive that many of its key design details, such as the eye-catching polished wheels, side power vents and Satin American Walnut trim, were soon to grace a special edition XJ produced for the USA and other key European and global markets. Both front and rear seats have variable heating and the driver's seat includes lumbar and cushion length power adjust with full memory function. To add to that unique performance feel, the XJR Portfolio also sports an aluminium J-gate gear lever surround and chrome and leather gear knob. The all-aluminium construction methods that Jaguar introduced with the latest generation XJ saloon in 2003 broke new ground in the volume automotive industry. Unlike other aluminium-bodied cars, the XJ family uses full stressed-skin monocoque construction including all the outer panels, is manufactured from aluminium. As a result, the XJR Portfolio is around 200kg lighter than before with significant benefits in performance, safety, economy and emissions performance. The XJR Portfolio's immense performance capabilities stem not just from its lightweight body but from its renowned 400bhp supercharged, 4.2 litre V8 engine. That excellent engine is matched by the superb six-speed ZF automatic transmission and gives an electronically limited maximum speed of 155mph and 0-60mph in exactly 5.0 seconds. This very nice example is presented in Midnight Metallic with an ivory leather interior, pressed aluminium dash, gear console surround and door cappings and is one of the 100 limited edition cars produced for the UK market. It comes with previous V5C registration documents, Press kit, sales brochure, previous MoT test certificates and service history. There is also a Jaguar Heritage Certificate and the wheels (with Heritage wheel centres) have been refurbished which included powder coating. The car also comes with its original bookpack which is complete, one set of keys, one chauffeur key and a first aid kit. These are rare, quick saloons which provide luxury and speed at a fraction of the cost today from when it was first manufactured.
