A Reproduction Art Nouveau Cast Iron Fire Surround Highly stylised fire surround with pewter tone finish, the overmantle featuring stylised circular floral and whiplash embossed motif reminiscent of Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh/Glasgow School. The sides finished with organic whiplash fronds. Integral brackets to undermantle for wall mounting, very good condition. Height, 41.5 inches, 26 inches in width.

Loftus, Wisbech, the matted centre with ringed winding holes, a subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture with engraved decorative surround, with crown-and-cherub cast-brass corner spandrels and decorative blued steel hands, the black lacquer case with raised Oriental chinoiserie decoration, a bulls eye lenticle glass to the trunk door, with the flat-topped hood having three-quarter columns with gilt-wood capitals, the base with matching raised chinoiserie work and standing on a single plinth, height 210cm.* Biography - Thomas Loftus is recorded as working in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire from circa 1695 until after 1718.

Newson, London, with cast-brass c-scroll spandrels to the four corners, the arch having a painted brass moonphase disc with engraved surround, the black lacquer case having three decorative panels to the trunk, the top depicting a courting couple in a garden, the middle with a group within a garden setting listening to a flautist and the lower, a woman attacking a stricken man with a ducking stool in the background, the arched-top hood with brass capitals to the three-quarter columns, the base with chinosierie decoration, all standing on bracket feet, height 210cm* Biography John Newson is recorded as working in Basinghall Street, London having been apprenticed in 1722 and becoming free of the Clockmakers Company in 1734, with his death probably in 1784.
A French Comptoise wall clock: the eight-day duration, weight-driven skeletonised movement with inverted verge escapement striking the hours on a bell, followed two minutes later with a repeat strike, being typical of this type of clock, the round white enamel dial set within a brass break-arch surround with decorative top and having black Roman numerals, decorative brass hands and signed Jennet Pére, à Paray le Monial, complete with iron wall bracket, height 42cm.* Biography A maker with this name is recorded as working in circa 1840.

A Pair of Pearl and Diamond Cluster Earrings, a cultured pearl within a petal surround set with rose cut diamonds, with hook fittings, measure 2.5cm by 1.5cm The earrings are in fair condition. The pearls are drilled and appear glued into place, they May be replacements. One accent diamond to the base of the hook where it meets the cluster is deficient. Some rose cut diamonds are chipped. They are not hallmarked or stamped but in our opinion would test as silver on gold. Gross weight 5.4 grams. Condition Report made 16th November 2017.
