Why, you might ask, is because these yellow faceted strass (crystal jewels are much more uncommon than any other color found on these examples, The beautiful clear crystal strass surround the 6 shaped large yellow jewels which in turn surround a more unusual STAR patterned center of clear crystal strass which finally surrounds a smaller round yellow crystal strass center. All mounted in a patterned back silver setting typical to these late 18th century examples. The yellow stones certainly remind us of yellow diamonds we see today. Exquisite and stunning button, useable on a pattern tray, glass in metal tray, 18th century tray and more.
