An Edwardian inlaid mahogany display cabinet, with single glazed door with wooden astragals and raised on tapered legs of square section united by a low shelf and terminating in spade feet. CONDITION REPORT: Height 162 cm, depth 36.5 cm, width 69 cm. The cabinet is in generally good condition. The top is in good order with no cracks. The frieze beneath is in good condition all round. The door is not warped and there is no cracked glass. The lock and key are present. The lock is a little loose in its surround and whilst the door does close the lock is not operating correctly. There are some scratches around the lock escutcheon. The base and legs are all in good order with only minor imperfections as one would expect form an item of this age. The cloth lining to the shelves is a little worn in places but not significantly.
A 19th century Vienna style regulator wall clock, with stencilled case and two-train spring driven movement. Height 96 cm, width 36 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The movement winds on both trains. The clock appears to be ticking away and strikes when advanced. The dial is in generally good condition. There is a small dent on the bottom edge of the brass surround. The clock case is in generally good condition. The pediment is a little loose. Other than this the case is in generally very good condition.
A Regency rosewood brass inlaid octagonal cased wall clock, with single fusée movement, case width 39 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The movement winds and is currently ticking away. The face has some minor nibbles around the winding aperture and slight blurring of the numerals from hand advancement. The clock glass and bezel are original and in good order. The rosewood surround has some very minor blemishes to the moulded edge but no significant condition issues.
A Victorian maple pedestal desk, with three quarter gallery, three frieze drawers and three further drawers to each pedestal. Width 112 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The desk is structurally sound. The three quarter gallery is in good condition all round. The leatherette writing surface has numerous scratches, scuffs and ring marks. There is also one 2 cm diameter hole. The wooden surround has six stress fractures to the left hand side and five to the right. There is no movement at the fractures but they are visible. The kneehole drawer appears to be locked. We have no key. All other drawers operate freely. All locks are present as are all handles. The drawer fronts are in generally in very good order. The moulding between the base and the pedestals has a small loss to the right hand corner. The right hand return moulding at the same point is missing. We do have a 6” section of this moulding in one drawer. The side panel veneers are very slightly lifting in places but there are no significant veneer losses. The plinth bases have the usual scuffs, marks and small veneer losses as one would expect.
A Shapland & Petter oak desk, with rear upstand and leatherette writing surface, with two frieze drawers and barley sugar twist turned legs and stretchers. Width 100 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The desk is in structurally very good condition. The super structure is in good order. Both doors have the locks. But we do not have the key. The leatherette writing surface is in good order as is the surround and moulded edge. The frieze drawers run smoothly and are in good order both locks are present. The twist legs and stretchers are also in good condition with no issues.
