A Victorian silver chatelaine, maker FWTT, Birmingham 1889, the belt hook with a lions head mask within a scroll surround suspended with five silver chains terminating with (by different makers) a propelling pencil, notebook, vesta case, pin cushion, scissors in scabbard, thimble case and thimble and a tape holder
AN OLD PAINTED STONE DOOR SURROUND constructed in fourteen sections with carved bird and foliate decoration and fluted moulding, approximate overall measurements, 7ft 9" high x 6ft 3" wide (this piece seems to be to have been constructed to stand around the preceding lot) (see illustration).
A SET OF SEVEN STAINED GLASS PANELS, each inset medieval and later coloured fragments within a leaded surround, by repute from Selby Abbey, Yorkshire and perhaps remnants from the fire in 1906 as some pieces bear evidence of smoke and soot damage, approximate measurement of each panel 8ft 4" high x 1ft 5½" wide (see example illustration).
A George III mahogany and ormolu mounted chiming bracket clock, with a triple fusee movement and replaced verge escapement striking on nine bells, the engraved back plate inscribed 'SPENCER & PERKINS LONDON,' with a 7 inch enamel dial inscribed the same, above a subsidiary date dial, with a floral painted shaped surround, the case with a conforming shaped hinged door, hinged fabric backed pierced and chased side doors, side carrying handles, the bell top with urn finials, 26in (66cm) h.
An early 18th Century Boulle mirror, the arch top cushion frame with brass border and having a tortoiseshell, acanthus and C-scroll brass inlaid surround, the plate 56cm x 45cm (22" x 17.75"). Boulle takes its name from André Charles Boulle (1642-1732), whose preminence in the field of marquetry was widely acknowledged. He was only the second cabinetmaker in Paris to achieve personal fame, the first having been Jean Mace. In 1672 Louis XIV gave Boulle the lodgings of the deceased Mace.
