A good 19th century dome-topped walnut lap desk, hinged lid opening to reveal fitted interior with cartouche-shaped white-marble writing surface and fold-out stationery rack and other compartments etc., 30.5cm wide There appears to be no major damage to the writing slope, the colour is quite good. On the left hand side at the top it is bubbling very slightly towards the edge. Being super critical the hinge cover does not shut perfectly, it is lifting slightly mainly to the right hand side. Opening the item there is a cartouche shaped white marble tablet and the gilded leather surround, pen tray and writing surface etc., looks original and in good order.
A George III silver vinaigrette, Thomas Phipps & Edward Robinson, London, 1805, of canted - rectangular form, decorated with an elegant engraved design, the hinged gilt grille with ornate pierced floral decoration amidst a semi-circle, bordered by an engine-turned surround, inscribed to cover, 1¾in. (4.5cm.) long, weight 1.12 tr.oz.**Condition: In excellent condition, with strong hinges, the inner maker's mark slightly rubbed.
A unique and extremely rare 19th century gilt bronze desktop box fashioned as a snooker table, top quality box with fine detailing, the hinged lid with sunken green baize playing surface, two snooker cues with wood effect grain and patterned detailing, three balls, the shaped rectangular surround with two chalks and a plaque to each side showing the scores, 52 and 47, the top opening to reveal a red and gold cushioned velvet interior with eye catching floral patterned design, the sunken rectangular void for storage, the box raised on Regency style turned legs, 4 1/8in. (10.5cm.). *Condition: in excellent condition with no faults found, great patina.
