Alexander Nimmo, Kirkcaldy, (fl.c.1820) A LATE GEORGIAN OAK-CASED 8-DAY LONGCASE CLOCK having a swan-neck pediment above an arched hood door between turned columns with brass capitals, the trunk having an arched door between fluted quadrants, on a plain base with bracket feet, the movement having an arched white-painted dial, the arch centred by an anchor within oval floral surround flanked by pink roses in bud, inscribed beneath 'Nimmo Kirkcaldy', the Roman hours and Arabic minutes framing a seconds dial (hand lacking) and date dial, the spandrels decorated with gilt oval medallions, 212cm, (83.5in) high (sold with two weights plus pendulum).
