An unusual large tea kettle, by Spode, printed in “The Tower” pattern, of circular form the angular handle, additional lifting handle and knop to cover, printed with a cellular band, impressed SPODE mark, plus under glaze printed COPELAND. Condition Report: The flange of the lid has a flaking glaze chip to the inside and a further hairline crack. There is an extensive crack running around the base which has been riveted. Further cracks and staining. Handle has been of and glued. Spout chips.
A pierced rim oval stand, “The Greek” pattern, by Spode, c1815, depicting a lady with her champion within the usual border of classical figure panels, 23cm, together with an oval lattice stand, printed with “Tendril” pattern, by Benjamin Adams, c1815, diameter 22.5cm. Condition Report: The Spode stand has some very minor rubbing to the edges. Some scratches to the base. The other stand has some minor cracks to the pierced decoration, lightly crazed and some glaze 'blows' to the centre of the stand.
A pair of circular charger dishes c1810 by Spode bearing impressed and printed marks, diameter 37cm. This rare “Convolvulus and Sunflower” finely engraved and particularly beautiful sheet pattern appears perhaps as a forerunner to William Morris's intricate wallpaper designs later in the 19th century.
A Spode “Rome" pattern sauce tureen, cover and stand, c1815. Condition Report: A couple of very small glaze chips to the handle. Some discolouration to the flange. Staining to the inside of the tureen. Possible some hairline cracks. Two chips to the foot rim. Stand with some discolouration and staining.
