Important and interesting collection of ephemera relating to 'St John's Church Hanley'. The church building is listed and still stands, but is reported to be opening as a mosque and Islamic centre. The graveyard was exhumed and developed to form part of the new A50. Included is a large collection of photographs. They include church renovations (including various bell photos) rectory garden parties, church processions and Sunday school, many annotated to reverse that detail the photos. Some family photographs but over 50 images including photos and photo postcards. Relating to the time of Rev Tamplin as Vicar. Also included is a minute book relating to the truteees of a committee set up to fund and rebuild the church and vicarage from 1797 -1853, (in distressed binding). The book features Josiah Wedgwood II and Josiah Spode on the committee among others. Items on Spode on the committee among others. Items on the minutes include funding details for the vicarage including the Prince Regent. There is a copy of a letter relating to the Vicar (Atkins) refusing to a second sermon and how it was resolved. Also includes items relating to the building process, funding and appointment of curates. Also included is a photo of Thomas Vallance, Father in law of Stanley Matthews. This is a very interesting lot of Stoke on Trent / Potteries history.
Spode Copeland tea service, circa 1890, hand painted porcelain, with raised jewel work with floral vignettes on a cobalt and gilded background to include a teapot (finial re-glued), 5 cups, 7 saucers, 12 side plates, a cream jug, a lidded sugar, a bowl and 2 large dinner plates (Qty). Generally in good and clean condition, odd damages present to include re-glued teapot finial, large plate cracked, 1 cup handle professionally restored, 2 small hairlines to inside rim of sugar bowl. Saucer diameter 15cm. Vendor states that King George V and Princess Mary once drank from this set when visiting her family who were heavily involved in the British Red Cross in the Trentham / Stoke area.
A fine early 19th Century botanical dessert service, possibly Spode, each piece finely painted with a botanical specimen named in black to base, service comprising ten plates with shaped gilt rims and relief decorated with berries, together with two small rectangular dishes, two further shaped dishes, sauce boat, cover and stand and two further dishes2 plates with some crazing to glaze and minor staining, dessert tureen base with crack and chip, 2 pierced baskets with minor cracks
Collection of 19th century Spode blue and white transfer printed 'Indian Sporting Series' items to include: 'Common Wolf Trap' plate, printed and impressed marks, 21cm diameter, 'The Hog Deer at Play', printed and impressed marks, 18cm diameter, 'Common Wolf Trap' dessert dish, printed and impressed marks, 24x20cm, 'Common wolf Trap' pickle dish, printed and impressed marks, 13.5x12cm and 'Battle Between Buffalo and Tiger' oval tureen stand, printed and impressed marks, 24x17.5cm. Provenance: The Audrey White Collection. (5) (B.P. 21% + VAT) Whilst a little grubby, the only only damage noted is to the dessert dish, which has a chip to the underside of the lip. Tureen stand restored, one plate restored.

19th century Spode blue and white chestnut basket and stand with pierced lattice borders, decorated in 'Italian' pattern, the basket 30cm in length approx. 'Audrey White Collection' label. (B.P. 21% + VAT) The stand is badly cracked in many places, the basket has one noticeable horizontal hair crack.

(7) (B.P. 21% + VAT) Crazing (heavy in places) - Smallest oval dish - restored. 'Gorinth' dish - chips in places.
Collection of 19th century Spode coloured wares to include: gilded cabinet cup and saucer, miniature jug and basin set with additional baluster jug having transfer printed marks and a porcelain yellow ground butterfly handle cup. (5) Provenance: The Audrey White Collection. (B.P. 21% + VAT) Some wear to the miniature pieces, but no obvious damage, the butterfly cup is cracked. Some wear to gilding. Chip to butterfly handle (small cup). Baluster jug - hair-crack to the handle. Large cup - vertical hair-crack. Jug and basin set - gilt wear overall.

(4) Provenance: The Audrey White Collection. (B.P. 21% + VAT) One cup - chips to the rim and hair-crack. Bowls - both have chips/losses to the foot. Both have minor chips to the rim (top). The Liverpool cup has chips to the rim and hair-crack.

Spode 19th century blue and white supper set comprising: circular centre dish with four surrounding kidney shaped dishes within a circular mahogany tray with brass carrying handles in the central with the 'Audrey White collection' label. 48cm diameter approx. (B.P. 21% + VAT) Crazing as expected, but no obvious damage. Tray has losses to the edge in two noticeable places. Dishes likely would have had covers as their edges are lipped.
