A 19th century porcelain specimen vase, possibly Spode, decorated with birds against a pale green ground, height 8cm, an Italian faience model of a cockerel, a Royal Copenhagen model of a bird and a Royal Copenhagen model of an owl, three Royal Worcester models of birds, and a Royal Doulton figure HN2306 'Reverie', also a Victorian jug (9).Additional InformationThe specimen jar decorated with birds has light rubbing to the gilding and may have had a top. The faience cockerel has some chips to the tail feathers. The Crown Staffordshire model of the bird with the nest has some small chips to the leaves. The Victorian jug is crazed throughout.

A late 18th or early 19th century Spode pearlware blue and white transfer printed Bourdalou, impressed factory mark and 'M' to base, Princess Adelaide pattern, boat form with c-scroll handle with lip thumbpiece, shallow ovoid foot, 9¼in. (23.5cm.) long. * This type of shaped chamber pot was named after the French Jesuit priest Father Bourdalou, who, at the time of Louis XIV, preached such interminably long sermons that ladies began to bring these pots into church concealed in their muffs, so that they could be secretly used in emergency circumstances under their wide dresses.
