A Spode '1291' pattern tea service, 19th century, comprising: a teapot, cover and stand, a sucrier, a milk jug, nine spur handled London shape teacups, ten spur handled London shape coffee cups, eight saucers and two serving plates, each piece decorated in an Imari palette with exotic birds, painted maker's mark to bases (33) CONDITION REPORT:The teapot rim shows a small firing crack approximately 5mm long and a hairline crack approximately 2cm long. The milk jug shows a decorating fault below the spout. One teacup shows a stained hairline crack approximately 4cm long. One coffee cup shows extensive repairs. Some pieces show the odd small firing pit or frit. Some pieces show small decorating faults. Some pieces show surface marking to the underside. All pieces show rubbing to the gilt highlights.
A Spode '1166' pattern vase, early 19th century, of 'New Shape Jar' form, the loop handles with twin lion's mask terminals, the body richly enamelled with floral sprays on a cobalt blue ground with gilt scales, white beaded borders to the rim and foot, painted mark and pattern number to base, 11.2cm high CONDITION REPORT:The rim shows a small overpainted chip approximately 2mm wide, and small firing pits and gilding faults. The handles show small scratches to the gilt finish, and one shows evidence of possible overpainting. The decoration shows surface wear, with minor wear to the gilt highlights throughout.
