A group of early nineteenth century original aquatints from Oriental Field Sports, Wild Sports of the East, issued by Edward Orme of Bond Street, London in 1807. These were used as the source work for the Spode Indian Sporting series. Comprising of: Shooting a Leopard in a Tree, Groom Leading, Dooreahs Leading Out Dogs, Death of a Bear, Driving a Bear out of sugar canes and Shooting at the edge of the Jungle. A group of early nineteenth century blue and white transfer-printed Spode creamers, c.1800-20. Comprising of: a Trophies Etruscan pattern creamer, a Dragon First creamer, a Temple pattern creamer and a Mandarin, Dagger Landscape First creamer. All marked to the underside bar the Temple creamer. 11 - 14 cm long. (4)Condition: There is a hairline to the handle of the Dragon creamer and extensive damage to the Mandarin creamer. Provenance: From a private, single-owner Spode collection.

Lot 28

A group of early nineteenth century blue and white transfer-printed Spode pieces, c.1800-20. Comprising of: a divided and handled Willow pattern dish and two Willow pattern leaf-shaped pickle dishes. Both pickle dishes are marked to the underside, the divided dish is not. 13-14 cm wide. (3)Condition: Small chip to the handle of the divided dish, two cracks and the tip of one pickle dish is missing, the other has two cracks. Provenance: From a private, single-owner Spode collection.
