Another slip, headed "Fuller d`Arch Smith Limited Rare Books," is typed "illustrations for an unpublished anthology of letters compiled by Brian Hill." Texte illustré en double page de représentations de la salle de prière de la mosquée de Médine, ainsi que des tombeaux du prophète et deux de ses successeurs. Cinq titres de chaque section inscrits à l’encre rouge ou vert encadrés par des motifs dorés et trois fins de sections en unwân à lettres dorées en réserve sur fond bleu et vert garni de palmettes. MS Arab SM210. Le manuscrit présenté ici serait donc l’une des plus anciennes copies conservées.Devenu l’un des saints patrons de la ville d’Alger, ‘Abd al-Rahmân b. Muhammad b. Makhlûf al-Jazâ’irî Abû Zayd al-Mâlikî al-Tha’âlibî est né en 786 H./1384 et est mort et enterré dans cette ville en 873 H./1468. Auteur de nombreux traités, al-Tha’âlibî est célèbre pour son commentaire du Coran, al-Jawâhir al-hisân fî tafsîr al-qurân. Cependant, l’essentiel de son Å“uvre est à ce jour inédit, comme ce recueil de biographies qui n’a pas encore fait l’objet d’une étude systématique et d’une édition critique. L’histoire de Mehr et Mochtâri, signé par « Ahmad Timar », Iran, XVIe siècle. Manuscrit persan en écriture nasta’liq à l’encre noire sur papier de 211 folios, deux colonnes de 12 lignes par page ; texte présenté horizontalement ou diagonalement et titres en lettres dorées dans des bandeaux, Illustrés de six miniatures.Le frontispice en unwân donne le titre en lettres blanches inscrites dans un médaillon doré sur fond crème fleuri. Il est surmonté d’une frise au même décor. Le colophon est signé par « Ahmad .... Timar ». Reliure en cuir noir à décor estampé d’une mandrole ornée de fleur et écoinçons floraux. Dim. : 19 x 11 cmÉtat : mouillures, restaurations sur l’ensembleSujets des miniatures : 1. rencontre entre le roi Châpour et un sage, 2. intercession de Behzad pour Badr et Mochtari devant Châpour, 3. Mehr avec ses compagnons dans la mer, 4. mise à mort du lion par Mehr, 5. Mehr joué du luth devant Keyvan et 6. combat de Keyvan et Ghara Khan.L’histoire de ‘Mehr et Mochtari’ intitulée aussi ‘Ech-nâmeh’ (le livre de l’amour) a été composée en 1376/778 H par Mowlânâ Chams al-Din Hâdjji Mohammad ‘Assâr Tabrizi. Dans ce roman Mehr, fils de Châpour est lié d’un amour spirituel très fort à Mochtari, le fils du Vizir de son père. Les vicissitudes de la vie les séparent mais ils se retrouvent après diverses mésaventures et Mehr épouse Nâhid, fille du roi de Chorasime.Voir : « Splendeurs persanes », F. Heraldry - Shropshire The Genealogie of the Knightly family of Mainwaringe of Ightfielde in the County of Salop descended from those of Peuer in the County of Chester 1658^ manuscript on approx 19pp 4to^ and featuring approx 47 hand coloured coats of arms with ms notes^ together with a further two watercolour depictions of memorials in Ightfield Church^ and a further depiction of Roger de Mainwaring. Vellum covered wrappers with some dusting and wear^ erosion to bottom right hand corner of each page affecting a few words only^ but the heraldic devices are all intact with bright colours.
