1962 Fender Jazz bass guitar, made in USA, ser. no. 7xxx9, neck date stamped November '62, three-tone sunburst refinish, nicely worn to the back of the neck, wear to frets, electrics in working order,Fender black Tolex case, condition: good *Sold with CITES article 10 certificate no. 549472/05. This lot is subject to CITES regulations if exporting outside of the EU *Provenance: the vendor acquired this guitar from the youth leader at Clifton Church in Bristol in March 1993. It was used as the bass for all the musical activities at the Church club. At the time, it was missing the chrome tailpiece, chrome bridge cover and ebonite finger rest. These have all been replaced with original early Fender hardware sourced from Kevin Rhys Jones. The guitar was taken to Gordon Wells of Knight Guitars in 2007 where it was refinished in three-tone sunburst

The guitar was purchased pre 1964, during the Skiffle period of British folk music. The Guitar was used on BBC TV's Tonight show, three radio programmes; Swing into Summer; and also used for various BBC recorded performance library segments. Used on recordings for Decca, Phillips and Pye (recordings available on 'All the Good Times: The Country Strings 1994'). Played throughout the UK folk circuit in the 60s; as well as London, notable performances within Scotland, Blackpool, Taunton, Norwich and the Midlands. 1964 Fender Stratocaster electric guitar, made in USA, ser. no. L3xxx2, neck date stamp March '64, pot date codes for 1963, pickups stamped for 1964, three-tone sunburst refinish which has nicely checked over time, wear to the back of the neck giving a comfortable feel, wear to frets, wear to fretboard, filled hole on the head from an old string tree, new nut, middle pickup rewound, electrics in working order, later Fender hard case, condition: good for age *Sold with CITES article 10 certificate no. 549472/02. This lot is subject to CITES regulations if exporting outside of the EU *Provenance: the vendor purchased this guitar from an advert in Weston Super Mare Ad Mag on 28th February 1983. The guitar had been refinished in a non-Fender red, had a replaced brass nut and the middle pickup was giving a low output. The guitar was taken to Dick Knight in August 1984 and was refinished in three-tone sunburst. A new nut was fitted by the Kinkade Brothers in March 1983. The middle pickup was rewound by Kent Armstrong in November 1985 - 10,000 turns with 0.056mm wire
2010 Gibson Custom Slash "Appetite for Destruction" Les Paul Aged electric guitar, bearing the Slash signed serial number "Slash #71" to the back of the head, owned, signed, played and purchased from Slash himself, sold with hard case and certificate of authenticity *Painstakingly modelled on the original Les Paul '59 style guitar that Slash launched his career with, this one mimics every detail down to the knobs and strap locks. It has Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro Slash signature humbuckers and the VOS Aged version has wear in all the right places. There were 300 of these VOS version guitars made, this being one of the 100 aged examples This instrument bearing the serial number "Slash #71" was personally signed and played by Slash and hand built by Gibson Custom. It is also signed "Slash 2010" to the back control plate Provenance - Many of the VOS aged guitars were sold by Gibson Custom, but not this one! Andreas purchased this guitar directly from Slash, after appearing with Myles Kennedy live on Skavlan on 07/11/2014. The guitar was used by Slash in many live appearances from 2010 - 2014. Included in the sale is a Slash promotional poster, hand signed by Slash - "Congratulations on buying one hell of a great guitar! These are really limited but genuinely worth the effort! - Slash 2010" Sold on behalf of Andreas Kleerup, the critically acclaimed Swedish artist and producer. Andreas is best known for many hit songs with his band, Me and My Army, but also his collaborative work with Robyn, Titiyo, Susanne Sundfor and many more His song with Robyn "With Every Heartbeat" went straight to number one on the UK singles chart list. Not only did the song reach top spot in the UK charts, it was named by NME as one of the best songs in the last fifteen years between 1995 - 2010, as well as being placed at number thirty of the best songs between 1985 - 2010, beating huge hit songs such as Coldplay - "The Scientist", Mumford & Sons - "Little Lion Man", The Libertines - "Don't Looks Back Into The Sun" and The Verve - "The Drugs Don't Work"

The three screw neck bolts were replaced with a back plate by the Kinkade Brothers of Bristol, as the originals were not able to keep the neck correctly set. The guitar was previously owned by a guitarist in a Bristol based reggae band.

This lot is subject to CITES regulations if exporting outside of the EU *Provenance: the vendor purchased this guitar from an advert in Weston Super Mare Ad Mag 12th February 1987 from Burnham on Sea. When originally acquired, the guitar had been refinished in 'Fender Pink', replacement bridge assembly fitted, one tuning key ferrule missing, no finger rest, missing strap button to the head and the pickup retaining screws were missing. The guitar was taken to Dick Knight in April 1987 where it was refinished in three-tone sunburst and all the hardware replaced where missing. In 2004, the guitar was taken to Malcolm Miles Guitar Services in Motspur Park, Surrey, where the original pickups and pots were replaced with a set of original 1960s pickups and pots as the original pickup was faulty. The originals to this guitar have been retained
